OHW has been removed on the Up Goods between at least Canterbury and Dulwich Hill. Not sure about between Canterbury and Campsie.
Dulwich Hill to Marrickville was removed in both directions a few months ago.
In both cases, all connectors have been removed, with the stanchions remaining.

That would be preliminary works in preparation for the realignment of the tracks for the metro conversion

The latest plans for Metro conversion came out today and there will now be no track realignment or platform straightening.

^ Then how are they going to get ramp free wheelchair access? At pretty much every station there is a wide gap between train and platform due to curvature, with a notable example being Dulwich Hill.

So how will they solve all the platform alignment problems?

I guess they will have to use platform gap fillers either on the platform itself or the rolling stock.

Yep, they will raise existing platform levels and use fixed and mechanical gap fillers as required. There will still be PSDs.

Delays today due to trackwork closing the mains and suburbans between Strathfield and Central. The new timetable does not seem to work with the previous standard weekend trackwork configurations, even with Richmond trains out this weekend too. They are now running Epping to Strathfield shuttles to reduce congestion between Strathfield and Central for other services.

Bird-proofing on Western line stations continues.

No droppings on the platforms or customers to clean up now

Where to find two weeks & 6 months proposed trackwork?

Postby Newcastle Flyer » Sat Jun 23, 2018 11:58 am

Can't find any Transport Planner thread if there is any, but how do we know find out for any two week or 6 months in advanced for proposed trackwork?

And no before anyone asks, these two options are not available here: https://transportnsw.info/alerts#/train, only current trackwork is.

Edit: Unsure at the moment, but looks like you have to subscribe now to the above.

Now that sydneytrains.info has been killed, the future proposed trackwork calendar PDF has been moved to the transportnsw.info website. However the section that listed detailed trackwork information for the next 2-3 weeks has not been replicated into transportnsw.info.

Also, quite interesting trackwork alterations today - some T2 diverted via Bankstown to run Central, Redfern, Sydenham, Bankstown, Cabramatta and all to Leppington.

Trains from Hornsby via Gordon are terminating at Central then running empty to Redfern to turnback.

I think it is to relieve congestion due to trackwork between Central and Strathfield.

Looking at the https://transportnsw.info/alerts#/train site now, while there isn't a separate section, I can see (for example) mentions of trackwork for the 7th July, which is 2 weeks ahead.

Otherwise, the PDF link on https://transportnsw.info/travel-info/w ... -trackwork (which currently is https://transportnsw.info/document/1216 ... ckwork.pdf) is the 6 month version.

Not as elegant as the old Sydney Trains website, but that's what we get now it seems.

Trains have been suspended in both directions between Kiama and Bomaderry due to train requiring mechanical repairs at Bomaderry. The line will now remain closed for the rest of the weekend and buses have been arranged to operate a replacement service until Monday morning.

Are South Coast Line trains running between Kiama and Dapto only?

Yes. Although apparently the Nowra diesel train is running again from this morning.

Damn, I was going to go out and see if they were using the Nowra Coaches artics today and tomorrow!

andy_centralcoast and Aurora, where are you getting your information about the situation? There's absoutely nothing on the Transport website or elsewhere (other than the previously planned trackwork changes north of Dapto). The grapevine?

Do they ever post bus replacement timetables for intercity services on the site or is it just "turn up and go"?

The diesel train broke down yesterday so emergency replacement bus was required. The issue was resolved last night so this train is now back.
