Email received from NRMA
We’re always looking for new ways to keep people moving, and now we’re looking beyond the road. We’re excited to announce that Manly Fast Ferry is now part of the NRMA. To celebrate, we have an introductory offer just for Members. You’ll save 20% on Sydney Harbour Eco Hopper passes, including the Taronga Zoo combo pass.* There’s no better way to see the Harbour with family and friends.

And then

We’ve always been there for you on the road, and we’ll continue to provide the legendary roadside assistance you’ve always had, as well as advocating for better roads on your behalf. Now we’re looking beyond the road and into our waterways to give people even more ways to move with our ferry service in Sydney Harbour.
Member offer

To celebrate our new ferry service, the NRMA is giving Members a 20 per cent discount on all Sydney Harbour Eco Hopper passes, including the Taronga Zoo combo pass. The discount applies to a Taronga Zoo Pass ($59 RRP adults, $35 RRP children) and the 24-hour hop on/hop off pass ($45 RRP adults, $25 RRP children).

Rumour has it that three vessels of a very new class will feature in the race on Friday and that one may have a name missing from it.

Abbotsford wharf upgrades
Monday 29 January

From Wednesday 7 February, Abbotsford Wharf will be temporarily closed while upgrade works are underway.

The upgrades include improvements to the safety and accessibility of the wharf and changes to allow faster and more efficient boarding and disembarking of ferries. Other changes include better seating and waiting areas and improved weather protection.

The closure is estimated to last for 4 months, dependent on weather and maritime conditions.

Bus route 437 runs between Abbotsford and Chiswick Wharf providing an alternative to connect to most peak hour ferries and all off peak hour and weekend ferries. Bus routes 438 and L38 also leave frequently from Great North Road opposite Battersea St towards the City.

Use the Trip Planner or download a real-time transport app to help plan your travel.

I am not seeing how the manly fast ferry is in any way relevant to actually going to the Zoo. That was probably written by a person who drives everywhere and has never been on a ferry.

Ferry McFerryFace / Emerald6 name is gone.

Per 7News will now be May Gibbs, children's author, this year is 100th anniversary of her famous books.

I must be hearing things. Even Ray Hadley said that Andrew Constance lied.

But according to NBN News, May Gibbs doesn't qualify as it wasn't one of the chosen names.

He's such a fool, and Gladys seems to be letting him hang himself more before replacing him.

I agreed with that until I read this on the Fast Ferry website which specifically only includes the Manly to Circular Quay route in its Opal spiel
http://www.manlyfastferry.com.au/news/7 ... -ferry#top

OpalPay is now accepted on the Manly Fast Ferry route between Manly and Circular Quay.

Tap to pay with your Opal card on our payment device at either Circular Quay – Wharf 2 or Manly Wharf and your fare will be deducted from your Opal account.

Manly Fast Ferry now accepts Adult, Child, Concession and Senior Opal Cards.

The following fares will be charged when using OpalPay on My Fast Ferry between Circular Quay and Manly:

Adult: $9.10
Child: $5.40

Concession fares are not available. Full adult or child fares will be charged when you use OpalPay.t

Not all Opal cards are compatible with OpalPay.

Opal single trip tickets and non-reloadable Opal cards cannot be used with OpalPay.
Opal cards that do not have stored value cannot be used including School and free travel Opal cards.
Trips made with OpalPay do not contribute to Opal travel benefits or discounts.
Standard Opal fares do not apply with OpalPay.
OpalPay transaction limit $25, Daily limit $30, Weekly limit $200.

Also neither of the Manly Fast Ferry timetables on Transport Info which show OpalPay include a stop at the Zoo
https://transportnsw.info/routes/detail ... /mdh/04MDH
https://transportnsw.info/routes/detail ... /mff/04MFF

Both of the PDF's still state "Contact Manly Fast Ferry for ticket options. You cannot use Opal on this service."

This wasn't intended to infer that Opal was available on the Zoo service, as Neilrex didn't mention it.
