That's the old Waratah interchange announcement. The new one starts with "Change at Central".

There's been quite a lot of cancelled trains today across T1, T2 and T8. Even some of the Special Event services for Olympic Park were cut. Only information provided was "due to an operational issue".

Central Coast trains have been making additional stops between Berowra and Hornsby all afternoon to cover for the cancelled Berowra services.

There's been no alerts on the service status page, but they have been posting some notices on Twitter

Yeah, I saw later in the night that Hornsby to Berowra trains were replaced by bus instead.

I was on the 1254 from Newcastle, arrived at Hornsby about 1445 and saw two Tangaras north of Hornsby. Did this all happen later?

Records indicate Waratah A sets have Stabled in Flemington MC since 2013 (approx.) when the majority of the Fleet was in operation.

They are usually tabled to arrive late Evening and start in the early hours of the next Morning.

Are there big delays this morning? I just got on a city bound train on Strathfield platform 4 that was completely empty.

T8 Line:
This morning the all stops service from Revesby to City was not already present and waiting on platform 2 when the Macarthur to City train arrived on platform 1. Instead, the Revesby service was running special heading up and pulled into platform 2 at Revesby 2 mins after the Macarthur train departed. I'm unsure if the Revesby all stations service operated in service down and then ran special to East Hills platform one to lay over or if the train ran special from Campbelltown yard to Revesby. Maybe the down Revesby service is scheduled to spl to East Hills to keep Revesby clear in case anything disruptive was to happen to services and/or infrastructure during the AM peak.
Also at Revesby, platform 3 was inoccupied and the Macarthur down service arrived instead of using platform 4. There must be some interesting service movements for the AM peak in regards to the new timetable.

Does anyone know more about this situation? Is it just a once off occasion?

Also listen to announcements and check indicator boards."

Under the November Timetable, the Up fast Macarthur service is tabled to depart 3 minutes after the Up Revesby service.

In the morning, three (3) Up Revesby services are formed by Empty trains, as follows (Revesby departure times):-
0613 hours, Empty set from Liverpool Storage Siding (via Glenfield).
0628 hours, Empty set from Campbelltown Yard.
0643 hours, Empty set from Leppington Yard.

The early Morning Down Macarthur services, run all stations to Revesby, and run through Platform 3 at Revesby: 0456, 0526, 0541, 0556, 0611, and 0626 hours.
First fast Down Macarthur service at Revesby, using Platform 4: 0636 hours.

^ That info is perfect. This afternoon I noticed a K set laying over on platform 1 at East Hills (16:24) - with all passenger doors open, potentially ready to form the UP all stations from Revesby at 16:32 or sitting at East Hills for a different reason?

Weekdays, one service is Timetabled, All Stations to Revesby, thence East Hills, departing Revesby at 1315 hours, East Hills arriving 1320 hours and Terminating.
This then forms an Empty train back to Revesby to form the 1332 hours "All Stations to City (via Airport)".

Today, Monday December 11, as mentioned in a earlier post, there was a fatality at Wentworthville during the Morning Peak. This afternoon, the Media reported services across the Network were still running late for the Afternoon Peak.

Entry to Wynyard & Town Hall was blocked off periodically this afternoon/evening due to overcrowding, with customers initially told to walk to Central instead.

Some parts of the suburban network were reportedly replaced by bus throughout the day and into the afternoon peak - Blacktown to Richmond, Penrith to Emu Plains, Hornsby to Berowra, Campbelltown to Macarthur.

Service alerts blame the delays on "a fatality at Wentworthville earlier and an ongoing operational issue."

There are further flow on crewing issues today as a result of yesterday's incident.

Many crew had to work overtime yesterday so they are unable to work some rostered shifts today.

That's the old Waratah interchange announcement. The new one starts with "Change at Central".

I wish they would just overhaul the Waratahs voice announcements completely. The current voice in my opinion needs to go, its a caricature of the original Taylor Owwyns that now sounds dead and disinterested.

That being said, I find it an interesting decision that the Millenniums and OSCARS have been left with the original voice. They were probably considered "too old" and not worthy of getting new software, but im not complaining :)

Responding to the chaos created when Town Hall & Wynyard train stations became overcrowded yesterday, Mr Constance said "these are platforms built a hundred years ago. They’re not built for catering to today’s population and that’s why the government is investing in a new metro network for the city.”

"Sydney Metro will increase capacity of train services into the CBD from about 120 per hour today, to up to 200 services beyond 2024. That’s an increase of up to 60 per cent capacity across the network to meet demand for a growing city.”

The gramophone record seems to be getting stuck at the same point all of the time - can TfNSW afford a new record?

Means he doesn't need crib notes when accosted by the media. He can just recite from memory.

I had cause to watch Constance make a speech to a small group recently. Whatever I think about him as a politician or transport minister, I have to give him credit for managing to make a 5-minute speech without looking at crib notes or reading a prepared speech.
Even if speech contents was all arranged in advance by minders, just the ability to remember and fluidly deliver a speech from memory is impressive. But the situation was sufficiently chaotic, that I think he ad-libbed the little speech and he ad-libbed it well.
I guess that's why he got to rank of minister. Gift of the gab.

The ability to stand up in parliament and debate with little to no prior planning would serve a politician well.

I think NSW transport urgently needs somewhat more than a large mouth to lead it into the future. Blah as a substitute for professional transport planning is not a great deal of value from the agency either.
