Temporary relocation of Penrith Bus Interchange - Tuesday 23 May
From Tuesday 23 May 2017, Penrith Bus Interchange will be relocated to a temporary site to allow for upgrade works on the current interchange and Penrith station.
The existing bus interchange will be moved to the Belmore Street car park and operate as a temporary bus interchange till late 2017.
Services will depart from four designated bus stands at the temporary interchange (see map below).
Bus timetables and routes will remain unchanged.
Customers are advised to allow for extra travel time to walk to the temporary interchange.
Upgrade works to Penrith Station will include improvements to the current interchange and is expected to be completed late this year. Services will utilise the new bus interchange once upgrade works are completed.
To plan your trip, use the trip planner with up-to-date timetables and stop information or download transport apps to assist you with your journey.

Re: Penrith Interchange
It was an advice from Busways so why would they need to include the company name with their route number? CDC would need to cover the Blue Mountains route unless TfNSW issues a common advice and that may still be coming as it is still 2 weeks away..

CDC's stands at Penrith have been closed for a few months now. Not sure where they run from.

Re: Penrith Interchange
Posters advising of the interchange work went up across Penrith station yesterday. Apparently BMT services will be running from Riley St IIRC.
EDIT (9:13 am 19/5/17) : Link to CDC website advising of interchange work: http://cdcbus.com.au/news-2/blue-mounta ... rade-works
It also mentions that NightRide buses (in this case the N70) will also run from the temporary interchange, considering the fact that CDC (in this case Hillsbus) is of course the current contractor of choice to run N70 services.

Re: Penrith Interchange
Saw some posters up this morning at Penrith Station advertising the opening of the rest of the new and improved Penrith Interchange. Opening day for the new bus interchange and presumably the rest of the station concourse is Friday 17 November.

From the Busways website http://www.busways.com.au/information/n ... 7-november
New Penrith Bus Interchange opens Friday 17 November
07 Nov 2017
As part of the Penrith Station upgrade, the new Penrith Bus Interchange will open on Friday 17 November and return to its original location outside the southern entrance (Jane Street) of Penrith Station.
The key changes to bus services for customers include:
Services will operate from the new interchange from first service on Friday 17 November.
Busways routes will depart from bus stands A, B, C and D
Stand F will be used to drop-off customers
The temporary bus interchange will be closed to customers from Friday 17 November 2017. Parking within the temporary bus interchange will soon be reinstated as the Belmore Street car park.
Directional signage will be in place to assist customers during the transition to the new interchange.
The new Penrith Station will also feature a new station concourse and platform stairs, as well as a lengthened taxi rank on Jane Street.

Re: Penrith Interchange
The interchange is now fully operational and all work on Platform 3 has been completed. The old toilet block and control room have been completely demolished.
But there is no information about bus services provided, other by visiting each of the stands to see the timetables. Quite a long walk from one end to the other.

That same walk-the-length-of-the-interchage problem occurs at Chatswood, discussed elsewhere on this site, and used to apply at Rouse Hill.

Re: Penrith Interchange
The first time I arrived by ferry at Barangaroo Wharf, I couldn't find Wynyard Walk.................. unless I missed a sign that was really obvious.
Last week I approached the other way (from Wynyard Walk) and found a sign with a map of Barangaroo, on which half of the streets were not named.
Unusual.
