$1.7 billion order for new Waratah trains signed
Re: $1.7 billion order for new Waratah trains signed
Saw that run 62 is actually being run by S105+125 today, which is weird as Anytrip is still showing load info for this train.
Re: $1.7 billion order for new Waratah trains signed
Got a ride on B1 today. They still haven't fixed the super loud announcements and the bug with the screens displaying nothing.
Re: $1.7 billion order for new Waratah trains signed
Just saw B5 travel through Redfern platform 8 under test, doors briefly opened and closed before it continued on.
Re: $1.7 billion order for new Waratah trains signed
On B4 today, loud announcements have been fixed, however the screens still have the timeout issue (screens sometimes go blank). This time the guard noticed and fixed it (by manually playing an announcement). Also an issue with one end of N1804 having all doors broken. Intercarriage door was locked open and external doors were turned off.

The Bs seem to be running on T2 Parramatta services of an afternoon. Passed three operating down services between Parra and Newtown yesterday afternoon.
B5 was on the eastern departure road, B6 was in the western sidings.

Reminds me of Japan, where a lot of trains were colour coded for the lines they run on. Used to be full paint jobs, but more likely just striping on SS or Aluminium these days.

Finally caught one of the new B sets! Does anyone know why the DVA is so loud on them?

The guard should be able to control the volume level.

Loud announcements still only fixed on B4. All other sets still have very loud announcements.
Also, they appeared to have fixed the timeout issue on the screens.

These past two weeks, a B train always ran the T2 8.32 am Central service to Leppington. This contrasts with the S train that comes 2 minutes before to Ashfield.

Re: $1.7 billion order for new Waratah trains signed
I saw a report a couple of weeks ago that 13 sets had been delivered to Cardiff.
But so far only 7 have made it to Sydney, and only 5 in service.

I normally detest the government blowing their own trumpet, but I like that 24 NEW TRAINS plastered on the side of N1906 in the pic. brings me back to the days of the Wran era when they put signs like this on milestone trains and buses. Brings a bit of pride and optimism to the city.

I saw my first B train going through Petersham on the Inner West line, headed for Parramatta on Thursday about 4:00pm. It was B2.
