Postby BW44YS » Wed Nov 02, 2016 5:15 am

To all of our Facebook Followers,

Our family company, Ryans Bus Service, would hereby like to inform all passengers, parents, school children and the public, that as from today November 1 2016 we have been formally purchased by Forest Coach Lines.

Forest Coach Lines, are based in Sydney, and like ourselves, have been involved in the bus industry for many decades, hence we will be leaving you all in safe hands.

We would like to note that both Naomi and Nigel will continue on managing the offices and staff in Coffs, Woolgoolga and Grafton as per normal, and you can continue to speak to them as you do now on their current phone numbers.

Sam and Jenny Tooth have officially retired as from November 1.

We would like to thank you all for your support and patronage over our 73 years of service to the local community, and we hope that we have provided you all with a safe and reliable form of transport - however you have chosen to use our company.

We would also like to thank all of our valued staff members, both current and past, for being the face of our company as well as forming part of our own extended family.

Forest Coach Lines are excited by the opportunity to work with the community as we have over the past 7 decades, and will aim to deliver the same high level of service that Ryans Bus Service have provided.

For passengers, both public and school, there will be no immediate changes to services.

If using the transportme™ passenger app, please look for Ryans/Forest Coach Lines. In time, this will change to 'Forest Coach Lines'.

Thank you.

Ryans Bus Service.

Another family company with a long history surrenders family ownership. :(
My little tribute to this operator is this photo I took in the area many years ago - their fleet No 3 Reo Speedwagon in retirement.
I often visited Woolgoolga and surrounding area in the '80's and also remember well the Atlanteans of Watsons Woolgoolga, whom Ryan took over in 1999.
I should mention the company made deliveries 'in the old days' to post offices at Korora, Moonee and Woolgoolga, and so the 'Royal Mail' logo at the front of the vehicle.

I noticed in the Forest website today that they now have timetables for some northern NSW routes listed as their Coffs Harbour routes at http://forestcoachlines.com.au/time-tab ... imetables/ but they are for routes 362, 362W, 362C, 363 and 364 which show as being operated by Sawtell Coaches but no mention of the Ryans route 372.

The timetables concerned are the new Transport Info format timetables. Also I could not find a timetable for route 372 in Transport Info.

So has Forest also taken over Sawtell Coaches?
And to answer that - yes they did in March see http://www.sawtellcoaches.com.au/

Forest did buy the Sawtell operation last month and will repaint all vehicles which will be retained into Forest livery like some of the former Ryans fleet has already been repainted. Some new vehicles have also been introduced to the former Ryans operation.

There is now a timetable for route 372 on the Forest website but this one is not Transport for NSW and is dated 1 January 2015 but shows Forest as the operator.

This now also shows Forest as operating at Narrabri and Wee Waa. Does anyone have any further information on this?

That makes sense.

In September 2017, Wolters Bus and Coach Services was acquired by Forest Coach Lines. Forest Coach Lines has successfully run bus operations since 1930 in the Northern Sydney region and is committed to in the long-term growth of this outstanding business in Narrabri & Wee Waa.
For further details on Forest Coach Lines, please click on the link below:
www.forestcoachlines.com.au

The Wolters fleet lists show the following commercial routes:

457B Town - Narrabri West
457C Narrabri - Gunnedah
457D Narrabri - Gunnedah
457E Gunnedah - Narrabri
Transport Info shows

Not directly Peter.
Chris Fogg(of Port Stephens) and Anthony Royle(formerly a Forest shareholder)are the shareholders in Linq Bus Lines Pty.Ltd.
