There used to be in the Greiner and Askin days but there is not much difference there these days.

Yeah, Labor got influenced by the dictator duo Greiner and Baird (Bruce), who set a precedent for bloody mindedness.

Route 100 operated from Dee Why to Sydney Airport.Richard290 wrote: I would reckon an appropriate choice of number for the new B-Line service would be either a mnemonic route number - 100 or 111 - it fits into the metropolitan regional number scheme well with Northern Beaches routes being numbered 1xx, and the fact there are no currently assigned bus route numbers below 130.
IIRC, around the 90s and year 2000 there was in fact, a 100 service which operated to Dee Why from the City.

There is the marketing influence of the T and M series to compare with this, so there is a good possibilty of it being in Bnn formatRichard290 wrote: I would reckon an appropriate choice of number for the new B-Line service would be either a mnemonic route number - 100 or 111 - it fits into the metropolitan regional number scheme well with Northern Beaches routes being numbered 1xx, and the fact there are no currently assigned bus route numbers below 130.

Public opinion has moved. The blue team don't see transit as a drag on their base any more.Fleet Lists wrote:There used to be in the Greiner and Askin days but there is not much difference there these days.

Does anyone remember the document that TfNSW published in 2014? 'Northern Beaches BRT Pre-Feasibility Study'
With regards to bus routes numbering. This is not what may happen as ideas may have changed over the last 3 years.
With regards to bus routes numbering. This is not what may happen as ideas may have changed over the last 3 years.
I checked the file attachment in preview mode and it worked, hopefully it stays that way.5.1 North-South Corridor: Bus Network Rationalisation.
The North-South Corridor will continue to be a significant focus for public transport, both for trips to/from
the City as well as for connections between residential and employment activity centres within the Region.
A tiered network structure for this corridor would provide consistency of service along different sectors of
the corridor, recognising the different characteristics of each.
Using a simplified route numbering system, the four network tiers would be:
Northern Beaches Rapid (routes 1 to 9).
Warringah Rapid (routes 10 to 20).
All-stops (routes 100 to 110).
Local (routes 200 and above).
There may also be scope to improve ferry operations and connecting bus services.
The tiered network would have a common stopping pattern. More trips would be provided on trunk routes
with other routes restructured to operate local services with interchange onto the trunk BRT routes at key
locations. The number of services going beyond Wynyard would be reduced.
A schematic of the proposed network is shown in Figure 5.1.

I think that already happened with the George St changes in October 2015.The number of services going beyond Wynyard would be reduced.

Fair enough point although he only represents a minority of the blue team.Fleet Lists wrote:Abbott still does.
Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach
So, no service to Manly, most of the time ?
Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach
Tony Abbott wouldn't have a problem with the unsubsidised fast ferry, only the slower ferry. On that one, I'd agree with him.Liamena wrote:So, no service to Manly, most of the time ?
Or are you referring to buses, or just not thinking that deeply?

Depends on from whereLiamena wrote:So, no service to Manly, most of the time ?
https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com ... 1496797112 states amongst a lot of other things
Route 199 will operate as a full time, all-stops service between Palm Beach and Manly via Avalon, Newport
shops, Newport loop, Mona Vale, Narrabeen, Collaroy,
Dee Why and Warringah Mall (Pittwater Road).

I am refering to the very conspicuous and big diagram posted shortly before my post, derrrr.simonl wrote:Tony Abbott wouldn't have a problem with the unsubsidised fast ferry, only the slower ferry. On that one, I'd agree with him.Liamena wrote:So, no service to Manly, most of the time ?

Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach
That would be route 17 with the small green dots for a peak only service. They must ave forgotten to add the word 'Manly', just like for routes 3, 15 & 16.
Enjoy.

Note that this diagram was a "pre-feasibility study".

Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach
It's interesting to read the responses to questions asked about the new Bus Service Plan. For an example, artics will be used for the new route 199 from Palm Beach to Manly.

They interestingly made no mention as far as I can see, as to what'll happen to route 190. Glad to see night-route 151 will be retained, unchanged.

Go to https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com ... 1496797112 as I have suggested before and there is a link to it on the page you were looking at and you will all the details for all existing routes including 190 which will not be retained.

Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach
The Northern end of routes 184 & 190 will be operated by new route 199 and the same to soon to be ex routes at the City end will be replaced by presumably additional 151 & 188 services to make up for any shortfall.
Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach
So maybe some 188 morning services or they could start the 178 or 180 earlier. Similar to how earlier this year for the Sun Run there were additional early morning 178 runs. I'm wondering what stop B-Line will use at Wynyard & will the L90 still use Stand B at Wynyard or will they move it to Clarence St in order to reduce patronage like the 169.

It will all be announced in due course. No point in worrying about these things now.

Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach
they could run some short 178/180/185/190s in the morning like they do now with early morning and late night services, run them to Pittwater Rd to connect with city bus. that should suffice the patronage level
