The building-supported anchor points were done in the 1990s and each one required a legal easement on the property title. There are plenty of examples overseas (and probably even in Melbourne) of decent-looking pole supports and smartpoles, but there seems to be some unwritten rule in NSW that everything has to look as ugly and over-engineered as possible.
