Re: NSW Future Rail Plan - NWRL/Metro/Harbour Crossing
I noticed this morning that Central platforms 13-15 have now been fenced off, and a lot of machinery has been moved in Sydney Yard.
The Bounce Hotel in Chalmers St has ceased operation, and is to be demolished to provide a new entrance to the station.

Article also confirms that Central Coast via North Shore will continue to run.Thousands of Sydney rail passengers will be forced to switch trains at the already overcrowded Central Station during peak hours after the closure of the Epping-to-Chatswood line next month.
Sydney Trains will introduce a new version of the rail timetable on September 30 to take into account the closure of the Epping-to-Chatswood line. The shutdown will affect the crewing of trains across the network and the length of periods when maintenance can be carried out.
Internal government documents, obtained by the Herald, show more peak-hour trains running from and to Hornsby in Sydney's north will terminate and start at Central Station.
leaked documents show commuters catching trains from stations on the T1 Northern line between Cheltenham and Normanhurst to Sydney's CBD will experience some of the biggest changes from the shake-up.
The internal documents also show more passengers will interchange train services at stations such as Strathfield and Hornsby following the network reshuffle. More trains will terminate at Hornsby.

Not news if you've been following this board either. The 2017 TT had laid the groundwork for the 30/9 TT anyway.
This is the SMH these days: attack selective schools on the odd days, and dig something up about Sydney Trains on the even days.

Just bear in mind that the SMH has been reporting for much of the year that TfNSW has major IT issues and that this was demonstrated to be correct last Saturday morning.swtt wrote:

Re: NSW Future Rail Plan - NWRL/Metro/Harbour Crossing
I’m pretty sure they are unrelated. My reading of the situation (no inside knowledge) is that the ongoing IT problems have been with corporate IT systems based on SAP, used for planning and the like. The weekend problem was an issue with an operational system, and operational systems are completely separate from corporate IT systems.
