The Hillsbus Railway Square stop in Pitt St still shows 619 services leaving the city !!!!!!

This was updated Sun 19th December 2010. Just to make sure I checked it earlier this week, there are no 619's displayed at Railway Sq (Pitt St). Both map and timetable were updated for the M61 intro.

The route 428 bus stop at Canterbury Station has information on it and it says Dullwich Hill instead of Dulwich Hill. That's only trivial, it gets worse. The current 487 route pointer on the telegraph pole at Canterbury Station used to say 478 when it was brand new a few years ago , today you can still see two yellow stickers with the correctly sequenced numbers have been placed over the same but incorrectly sequenced numbers.

One bus stop on West Botany St (outbound) still has a sticker displaying 425 and the former section point No. 3. This is now route 422 (extended to Kogarah) and in section 8, one bus stop before it becomes section 9.

Southbound when you come up Brook Road Seaforth, beside the ex TAFE, on one of the poles there is still one pointer sporting the route numbers 169, 172 and 173. Route 172 been the odd one out.

I suspect you mean Frenchs Forest Rd, Seaforth (even though it is the extension of Brook Rd). 172 ceased last December (I think I'm correct in saying).

There is a route pointer for the 409 on Elizabeth St at Ashfield just before the intersection with Frederick Street, it appears to have been masked over with something although that has iether faded or peeled off so the sign is completely visible. I also noticed two 493 route pointers next to each other, I can't remember where it was exactly, probably around East Terrace or West Terrace in Bexley where the 499 used to operate, next time I drive through there I'll have a look and then update this post.

It runs Castle Hill to Macquarie Park via Baulkham Hills Junction, M2 and Macquarie Centre/Macquarie Uni Station yes.

There is a Busways 750 routepointer coming out of UWS turning right onto O'Connell St at the State Archives.

750 ran to UWS Werrington/Kingswood only between 15.2.99 and 28.1.04!

Same..I couldn't recall it as a number either - having said that I'll try and take a photo of it next time I'm in the area. There is another 950 route pointer on the other side of Merrylands...memory doesn't quite work at the moment, but I'll see what I can find.

I've brought this topic back into the spotlight as I've found plenty more examples of STA signage that is outdated and also some examples from private operators as well. I've compiled a long list of examples, some of which have aleready been posted by myself and also some other members as well, so this is just an overall list in total of what I have found since late 2010. 415.
i). Redman St, Belmore Station.
Bus stop. Short working 415 services used to terminate and begin here.

From Burwood the bus would continue along Burwood Rd athough not drive over the train bridge to the section point (09), instead turning left into Etela St, right into Sudbury St, right into Redman
St, terminate and lay-over at the bus stop. When operating the return trip back to Burwood, the bus would simply make a right turn back onto Burwood Rd and there would be a bus stop immediately after the
turn. This would create confusion for passengers, as they wuld be waiting on the other (wrong) side of the train bridge expecting a bus to turn up, a bus would eventually turn up as the last 415 leaves from Campsie. There are still some 415 services that terminate at Belmore Station although since the Region 6 Review and implementation of routes/services in 2010, there have been some changes. Currently there
are no shifts that make a return trip back to Chiswick upon terminating at Belmore, the shifts will have other routes to be operated or it will be time to sign off.

ii). Etala St & Sudbury St, Belmore (near Belmore station).
Terminating/special route for short working 415 services to Belmore only.

iii). Victoria St, Burwood - Westfields.
415 sticker on the J-pole at the bus stop displays ‘415 terminus and operates between 09:00 AM and 15:00 PM’. Before the Region 6 Review and implementation of new
route/services, the 415 formerly terminated at Burwood Station, although between 09:00 AM & 15:00 PM the 415 would be extended down to Burwood Westfields. Today the 415 operates through Burwood
and continues to Five Dock to terminate at Chiswick terminus.

The signage examples below were replaced or removed before I had a chance to take a photo. I used Google Maps to obtain photos of the examples of outdated signage at the locations.

423.
i). Illawarra Rd, Marrickville (opposite Recreation centre).
On route 423 inbound there is a sticker on this bus stop stating: ‘Reief Point’. The J-stand was replaced with a new Blade style bus stop was replaced in Nov 2011.

ii). Illawarra Rd & Homer St - outbound.
Section 07 sticker is on the wrong bus stop. The J-stand was replaced with a new Blade style bus stop was replaced in Nov 2011.

Ex 425 and 422.
Princes Hwy (near Smith), Tempe.
This last set down stop was updated mid 2011, the ex route 425 sticker has been replaced with route 418. this bus stop is used by Tempe only services, the reason for this last set down stop is because the bus had to merge across towards the right from lane 1 into lane 3 to make a right turn into Tempe Depot.

Ex 471.
Railway St (near Villiers St), Rockdlae - inbound.
Route pointer and bus stop. Both the bus stop and the route pointer went missing at an unknown date, possibly mid 2011.

Ex 499.
i). Liverpool Rd, Croydon (section 10) - inbound.
Ex 499 route sticker. This was changed to say 490, the J-Stand was replaced with a new Blade style bus stop in Nov 2011. The Google maps photo displays the J-stand with 'Zone' information, in 2010 this was removed as Myzone replced the older ticketing system, although the 499 route sticker remained on top of the J-stand.

ii). Burwood Rd & Claremon St - outbound.
Route pointer. This was changed to say 490 in Oct 2011. I heard a trainee driver complaining about this very same 499 route pointer after he operated a route 490, within 2 weeks the sign had a '0' placed over the '9' to read 490.

Ashfield Station.
Brown St, Ashfield Station underpass. Sign - ‘STA single deck buses only’.
I'm sure that this sign used to display ‘UTA’, someone replaced the 'U' with an 'S' which was pointless considering that the organisation known as the STA ha never operated double deck buses. I know the PTC did but did the UTA come into existence with dd buses in service? This sign went missing from the telegraph pole in January this year.
