Route 357 and 359 Service Changes
Sydney Buses continuously monitors all bus services to ensure passenger demand is being met.

From Sunday 24 September, changes will be made to routes 357 and 359:
On weekdays, two 357 trips will no longer operate from Sydenham Station to Mascot. These are the 6:30am and 7:00am services. Customers are advised to catch the buses departing 15 minutes on either side of these trips.

On weekends, the frequency on both the 357 and 359 will be reduced from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. This makes the frequency between Randwick Junction and Bondi Junction Interchange every 45 minutes.

What are some more routes that we can think of, which should be on the chopping board?

If it wasn't for BBE, then the 359 and 357 wouldn't have faced the chop.

Would patronage levels have been better if it wasn't because of BBE?

The new TTs say "Daily daytime service". Maybe it should be "Daily almost non-existent service" or "Daily disservice"...

If it wasn't for BBE, the 357 would still be a PHO Industrial service. There would be no services to chop.

Then just wondering why STA made it a daytime service, with 1 bus every hour. Was it due to CSO and the fact that Gardeners Road west of Botany Road had no public transport (but it also has very little in terms of potential patronage)?

The daytime service only runs to Eastlakes, so there is still no service west of Botany Rd outside of peaks. Eastlakes is already served by the 343, 301 and 303, so there seems little justification for the 357 as well
