Election 2019

Post by scott »

ScoMo is off to Government House to call the election for May 18th. Let the landslide begin, especially in Victoria.

Personally I don't see Shorten as being particularly electable. Should Labor win, it will be because the public want something different, not because they want Shorten...* He ought to watch his step, because in that 'great Australian tradition,' an unpopular PM will be sent to slaughter rather quickly.

* In W.A., the current State Government loves to bleat how their win at the 2017 election was because the public were voting for the environment, and not the controversial Roe8 project... No, the Liberals lost because people were sick of Barnett and Barnett's spectacular spending-spree.

It will be interesting to see how United Australia Party go after their advertising blitz.

God if I hear "Australia's not gonna cop it anymore" for much longer I will go crazy.

Labor lost in NSW recently despite an anti-LNP sentiment, because the leader was on the nose.

Can see the same thing happening here.

On the brighter side, we should stop seeing all of the "look at what the Government is doing; how good are we?" ads now that the parties have to pay for it themselves, rather than the public purse having to bear the cost ...

This election will be Sydney’s south (Morison) v Melbourne’s north west (Shorten)

Apparently Clive Palmer is swanning around in Fiji at the moment.

ScoMo is really gaining a lot of ground during this campaign, but I still predict a narrow victory for Bill Shorten, due solely to the loss of Liberal seats in Victoria.

In plate news the coalition won with an increased majority, toad faced Tony is gone, Shorten is back in the obscurity he deserves and both the Greens and Hansen have been neutered in the Senate. Good result eh?

And Clive Palmer wasted his money, there are still a couple of his billboards around. And Hinch got kicked out too.
