Smart ticketless parking at Macarthur Square shopping centre

Macarthur Square shopping centre in south western Sydney has smart ticketless parking how it works is centre management snap someone's rego plate on entry then when they are on way out you put your their rego number into the kiosk in the photo if that person is there for over three hours then the centre start charging a fee

I have issues with these things because I have custom plates on my car. Every single time I go to Westfield Doncaster (which uses the same system) I have to call the concierge and pay that way, as the system never recognises my registration.

Several variations of this in Sydney. But you don't have to go to a kiosk to check out (they are available if you need confirmation), just drive to the gate and go straight out. If you are over the free time limit, you can tap at the gate.

The only explanation I can think of why Lend Lease is doing this is to tell train commuters using Macarthur station our car parks are for shoppers and not for people catching trains

Rather obvious. Same applies at other places like Westfield Miranda.

Eastgardens is ungated/untimed at the moment, but are considering changing because they don't want overflow parking from the new Meriton development next door.
