What books have you read lately

Postby scott » Wed Jan 21, 2015 5:49 pm

What are some of the books you have read lately?

Some of mine are

* Never Say Die by Professor Chris O' Brien (the guy who was the head and neck surgeon on RPA who died in 2009)
* Who Killed Channel 9 by Gerald Stone
* A Human Deadline by Derryn Hinch
* Bob Hawke's Memoirs (borrowed from the library)

And now I have just bought Molly Meldrum's book The Never Um ... Ever Ending Story which I will hopefully start tonight.

I am into autobiographies more than anything, or anything non fiction. I also saw a book written by Tony Abbott, called "Tony Abbott, A Man's Man" published in 2011 in the library, ideal for the toilet.

'Ideal for the toilet'... holy f**k that is funny! Now, onto serious business, are we using that for paper, or to pass time, reading some bulls**t while taking a s**t?

For me:
The Maze Runner
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay
While this isn't exactly a book, my girlfriend has been typing a story she's written by herself, and I've read it a few times. Very good, I must admit too.

Cheers!

I just read the Maze Runner as well. I think scott is saying that you read bulls*** while taking your s***, then use it as toilet paper afterwards
Also just read "Underground, Overground" by Andrew Martin, good book if you're interested in the London Underground (which I am).

Several months back:
- Assorted novella in Stephen King's "Different Seasons"
- Kate Grenville's "The Secret River," it was on the booklist for Yr12, but we never used it.

Right now:
- Irwin Shaw's "Top of the Hill." I'm about half way now, and have found it interesting to read. At times, however, you do get a explanation of a bedtime scene. Not my thing, but I pludge along. Not bad, considering I bought it for all of $5 at some secondhand bookstore.
