Well, this Thursday the battle for the minor premiership is on-Roosters v Bunnies at ANZ. Who will win their first minor premiership in yonks? Who will emerge the victor? Will the Burgess Bros. be no match for the might of Minichello, Pearce and SBW?

Find out this Thursday night, either at ANZ or on whatever channel is broadcasting this match.

Oh, and Parra won the wooden spoon again.

Well, I'm happy because this is the Roosters' first Minor Premiership in 9 years. Good job team!

We've still got a bit to go-I'm still not used to the AFL finals system we adopted last year but I think we might still have a good chance of clinching the Premiership this year :D

I prefer the McIntyre system over the AFL system, but that's just me, probably because I was used to it

I thought that because we are about to enter the Semi Finals, why not post one of the best Semi Final games of all time

(those that can't remember why this was special, Easts finished 6th, Wests finished 3rd, however, 7th beat 2nd and under the old system, the bottom two placed losing teams were eliminated which made the Roosters the 2nd lowest losing team if they lost)

The McIntyre Final Eight System's been a staple of footy; it was used by the ARL/NRL since Super League up until 2011, by the AFL from 1994-99 and also in several other (smaller) comps. I find it easier to understand than the AFL-sourced system that the NRL decided to use from 2012.

Old system is better because it rewards 1st and 2nd with teams who barely made the 8.

they changed it to make it fairer for those teams that came 7th and 8th so they played 5th and 6th instead but on plenty of occasions with the old system, 2nd was beaten by 7th (2010 being one of those years) and 1st had been beaten by 8th once or twice

Semi-finals this week: I think the Roosters are playing Newcastle and Manly's up against the Bunnies. As a Roosters supporter, I'm hoping that the red, white and blue will be able to make it into the finals against the Bunnies-SYDNEY DERBY!!!!

Well, I don't want Manly to win the premiership because I despise said team, so I want to see a Roosters v Knights, Roosters v Bunnies or Knights v Bunnies game.

Grudge match tonight as the Bunnies take on my most despised team-the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. Tomorrow night it's the Roosters up against the Knights; I might listen to that on ABC Grandstand tomorrow arvo. (Crazyturbo76 bought himself a new digital radio/alarm clock today-this is an excuse for him to listen to the semi-finals.)

I am not very happy. 20-30; stupid Manly's gunna win another premiership the way they're going. Hopefully the Chooks will pull through and punish Manly at the Grand Final this year... amongst all the scandals that are now pointing at the Roosters (supposedly 6 players are linked to some banned hormone).

I think none of the roosters players are banned, and coming from a knights fan, its just disgraceful how the media decided to report it before a big game

The news I heard on Friday (when the scandal started) was that they found samples of a banned drug in six players. Another two are being accused of links to a drug ring.

Well, next week will see if the Roosters can win their first GF in 11 years or if Manly will win their third premiership in 5 years.

I'm a Manly supporter and in all honesty given that Souths were 14 - 0 at half time I thought the Bunnies had it in the bag, but someone forgot to tell the Sea Eagles. Souths also had the week off so I was half expecting a drubbing.

Shoukd be a good game next week, but I'm predicting Sydney by a couple of tries. Heart says Manly though.

Sonny Bill may be out on Sunday due to a calf injury. Also at last night's Dally M awards James Maloney, Boyd Cordner and Trent Robinson won awards for the Roosters.

Might make the job slightly easier for the Sea Eagles.

Read in today's Sadvertiser there were a few injury clouds hanging over the Roosters, can't remember the names though. It's funny because all the NRL GF Articles in The Sadvertiser have been Roosters-biased, with little mention of Manly.

Sonny Bill and Mitchell Pearce will play this weekend, on a different and random topic

If we had another expansion team/could revive a team, I would love to see the Adelaide Rams or Western Reds back in first grade or even a team from Darwin, the Hunter Mariners would not be viable because of the close proximity to the Knights, which as well as the Super League crashing down led to their demise.
