I never got a chance to go to Pasadena.
So much to do, so little time. LA traffic doesn't help when you are trying to get around to everywhere.
Can't wait until I can go back again.

Sunnyvale is my favourite!

Then Macquarie Fields; the REAL Sydney.

I can never understand why the tourist people give us the stereotypes of the harbour, the bridge and the opera house when the REAL Sydney is redneck country!

And after my recent visit to Queensland my favourite location is Yandina.

There are actually some nice places in Redfern - I have a friend who lives there (she has one of the newish flats near the Technology Park). It's also very handy to just about everywhere. Redfern still has an image problem, but it's been heading upmarket for some time now. And a few of the old terraces are more like mansions - there was one sold at auction a few years ago for well over a million (in Pitt Street I think) - I forget how many bedrooms it had but, amongst other things, it had servants quarters and, of all things, a ballroom....

I wouldn't want to walk through some of Redfern's back streets at night though....

Parramatta, but we don't necessarily want to live right next to it. We were looking in the inner west, but we wanted to keep the price under $900,000 and that rules out most of what's on offer, other than those "in need of a little TLC" or those on or near main roads. There were a couple of nice looking California bungalows - one in Homebush and one in Concord that were well kept and under $850k, but they both turned out to be just a few metres from an intersection with the Parramatta Road....

You can get a large house block out my way for that price and live a comfortable spacious life. \

Then catch a t-Bus at Rouse hill and be in Whatsthamatta in 18 minutes.

I've decided that I don't want to live within 150 or so km's of the GPO if I can help it, other than that I would find myself at home pretty much anywhere.

The Hawkesbury region is one area I did suggest, but I was told it was too far away (everyone in my husband's family bar one couple live in the inner west). I would love to live in Leura, but I'm not going to bother raising that as a possibility in light of the reaction I got to Richmond and Windsor. Rouse Hill is another place I fancied but that met with a similar response. For some odd reason, when I suggested Hornsby, there was no objection!

I have spent the best part of this evening looking at real estate websites, and Northmead looks interesting, Westmead a bit less so. There seem to be a few attractive and affordable places around Normanhurst. I think I've seen enough photographs of houses for now but the we're not going to do anything for at least two months, so I've got time to work out where I would like to move to.....

In Melbourne, it would have to be Templestowe, Toorak, Prahran and (don't judge me) Langwarrin.

In Geelong, it would be either Newtown or Highton. Ocean Grove and the Bellarine is okay too.

Thanks,

My girl works in the CBD every day and catches a train from Rivo and it takes an hour. It's 5 minutes to Rouse Hill and 15 to Castle Hill or Blacktown. I just love the peace and total lack of drunken hooligans walking down the streets breaking things. Space to park cars, the boat, can light a brazier, have a Barbie without everyone smelling and trying to come over, have a pool without neighbors perving, can pee outside on a tree if you have boots on, the Advantage list is endless.

After thinking for a good few minutes, I can't come up with a suitable, appropriate comeback.

Broadmeadows in Melbourne is always a great place to visit. For 50 years, the "Broady Boys" have been protecting the local streets and the local women. It's a very tough part of Melbourne.
