I think this would be the another route after the Fremantle CAT and Joondalup CAT, what would it after? May be Carousel service between Cannington and Carousel, or Innaloo between Stirling Station and Innaloo shopping centre, or maybe Whitford City shuttle between Whitfords and the Whitford City? :o

The Whitfords one might be useful because it's a heck of a trek on foot. Cannington to Carousel can be walked in 5 minutes (I've done it plenty of times) so not much need.

Maybe a free shuttle to my house! :D

Joondalup CAT routes 12 and 13 were brought in on a trial basis (13 being the same as 12 except for a shortcut, and only used in the AM peak) to service the Joondalup Business District. It was a great idea, considering how many people worked there. But then I guess those people aren't concerned with parking and congestion, so would drive anyway. Would be nice to see the Joondalup CAT (10/11) extended to the Quadrangle area (the land intending to be populated by high-rise offices) when that's in use.

Anyway, these free shuttle routes are good, because people know they go to the shopping centre. If they've already got to Midland station, then it probably wouldn't cost them any extra to go to Midland Shopping Centre on any of the buses, because they are still in the same zone.

Given the state government's enthusiasm for increasing land tax and parking bay levies, it's probably cheaper for shopping centres to subsidise shuttle buses to/from railway and bus interchanges than increase parking space.
