Metro Trains: New Epping Line Timetable

New Timetable Epping Line
Thursday 24 November – Monday 28 November

Significant improvement works have been taking place over the last year to upgrade the Epping Line. The first phase of these works are nearing completion which will see shorter journey times and improved service.

In preparation for the commencement of the new timetable on 28 November 2011 and the opening of the new Thomastown and Epping premium stations the following changes to travel will occur.


Thursday 24 November
Buses will replace all trains between Keon Park and Epping.

Friday 25 November
Buses will replace all trains until 10pm between Keon Park and Epping and then between Bell and Epping from 10pm until last service.

Saturday 26 November
Buses will replace all trains between Bell and Epping.

Sunday 27 November
Buses will replace all trains between Clifton Hill and Epping.

Monday 28 November
New Epping Timetable to commence.

The replacement buses will stop at:
Clifton Hill
– At the bus stop on Hoddle Street outside the station entrance.
Rushall – At the bus stop opposite the station in Rushall Crescent.
Merri – At the bus stop at the corner of Bridge and South Park Streets.
Northcote – At the bus stop on Arthurton Road (near level crossing).
Croxton – At the bus stop opposite the station entrance in Stott Street.
Thornbury – At the bus stop opposite the station entrance in Ethel Street.
Bell – At the bus stop near Garnet & Bell Street intersection.
Preston – At the bus stop near station car park entrance in Cramer Street.
Regent – To the city: At the bus stop near Spring Street & Verdun Grove. From the city: At the bus stop near Spring Street & Rona Street.
Reservoir – To the city: At the regular bus stop opposite station in Spring Street. From the city: At the bus stop near Spring Street & Cleeland Street.
Ruthven – At the bus stop opposite station in High Street.
Keon Park – to / from the city: on High Street (west side to Epping, station side to city),
Thomastown – to the city/from the city: at the bus stop opposite the station in High Street.
Lalor - at the bus stop opposite the station in High Street.
Epping - opposite the station in Cooper Street.

Please note: In accordance with the Victorian Fares and Ticketing Manual 2011, bicycles, surfboards and dogs are not permitted to travel on buses. An exception exists for guide dogs, hearing guide dogs or guide dogs in training and small animals if they are suitable contained.
