The Metlink website is showing the Nationalbus holiday timetables for the upcoming festive period. No doubt timetables for other operators will appear over next few weeks.

Nationalbus' summer timetable will operate on just 7 days this year, over the period of 29/12/10 until 7/11/11.

Routes 235, 237, 238, 280, 282, 305, 364, 905, 906, 907 & 908 will continue to operate to the normal timetables over this period.

Routes 319 (replaced by 908) and 364 ran a reduced service last summer, but will continue to operate as usual due to the DART upgrades.

EDIT: Holiday timetables have yet to appear for Routes 366 & 367 - this is an oversight, the same timetables as 2009/10 will operate.

Kind Regards

Ivanhoe Bus Company begin their "reduced" 551 timetable from today (Monday November 29th).

Though Ivanhoe technically don't operate Christmas holiday timetables anymore, the 551 morning and afternoon shuttles services between Heidelberg and Latrobe Uni will not resume until February.
(NOTE: These are marked "L" on the printed timetable).

Normal service will resume on Monday January 31.

In previous years, the reduced service was over January & February - it has now runs over December & January.

No doubt a reprinted timetable will surface at some point.

Looking at the Summer Hoilday Timetable on Metlink site for Route 232 seem to be a few mistakes in it, mostly in morning and afternoon peak.
e.g in Afternoon peak show 2 trips leaving Vic Market at same time at 4.40pm, 5.00pm, 5.20pm.....and theres no 2 trips schedule to depart same time.Plus the 5.41PM, 6.00PM, 6.38PM trips from vic market should not be on holiday timetable.
Basically all that needs to be done is remove the express trip from the holiday timetable online.

Also oddly Metlink have a link to a 215 timetable from 21st January 2011 to 22nd January 2011 :?
http://tt.metlinkmelbourne.com.au/tt/TT ... ttb_TP.pdf

215 still operates to the summer holiday timetable those 2 days, so should not have this other 2 day timetable online.

Hopefully this wil lbe corrected on the website.

Is there a reason why all peak trips operate are advertised via Port Melbourne during the summer timetable, given the 10 min frequency is still offered?

Given the late running on the route, I doubt all the trips will operate via Port Melbourne anyway.

Kind Regards

No real reason, its just always been like that. But your correct due to the late running not all trips will operate via Port Melbourne.

Shortly.

They will be much the same as last year, with a few small changes.

The Metlink webiste now shows details of the timetables operating over the various public holidays.

A summary for the bus network (trams & trains are straight forward):

Christmas Day - Sat 25/12 - Sunday timetable other than Routes 605, 681, 682 & 684. Note that 691 now operates a Sunday timetable on all public timetables.

Boxing Day - Sun 26/12 - Ventura & Nationalbus routes will run a Saturday timetable, as will US on routes 688 & 695/695F, primary to cater for the Boxing Day sales. All other bus routes will run to a Sunday timetable.

Christmas Day Public Holiday - Mon 27/12 - Saturday timetable on MoTC routes, Sunday TT on most other routes

Boxing Day Public Holiday - Tues 28/12 - Saturday timetable on MoTC routes, Sunday TT on most other routes

New Years Day - Sat 1/1 - MBL running a Sunday TT, Moonee Valley not running Route 503 or 506, Tullamarine not running Route 490. All other operators are running a normal Saturday TT.

New Years Day Public Holiday - Mon 3/1 - Saturday timetable on MoTC routes, Sunday TT on most other routes

Even more inconsistencies & oddities than usual! :?

Kind Regards

Metlink wrote: Improvements to Route 691
Date Published: Friday 17 December 2010

Route 691 services have been upgraded to run on public holidays in line with most metropolitan bus routes.

Services will now run to a Saturday timetable on all public holidays except Christmas Day and Good Friday, where a Sunday timetable will apply. Please note that because Boxing Day is a Sunday, a Sunday timetable will apply on this route.
Previously the route only ran a Sunday timetable on public holidays, with no service on Christmas Day or Good Friday.
