Two additional trains will serve Wendouree Station from Monday 26 July.

The two new services are the 05:32 Wendouree to Southern Cross Station (to arrive at 06:53) and 16:37 Melbourne to Wendouree (to arrive at 17:51).

The two peak services will bring the number of trains servicing Wendouree to 13 weekday services, or 73 a week.

Since Wendouree Station opened on 14 June last year, about 24,118 passenger trips have been made from the station.

This equates to about 150 people using the station every weekday, reducing the strain on CBD parking at Ballarat Station.
Kind Regards

New bus link to Maryborough V/Line services

Date Published: Friday 20 August 2010

An extended trial bus service known as the Maryborough Transit Train Connector has been introduced to help residents get to Maryborough Station and meet recently introduced train services.

It is a demand-responsive service which meets with morning and afternoon trains and an around-town fixed-route service that operates every day except Sundays and public holidays.

A demand-responsive service will pick you up near your home inside the town boundary and take you to Maryborough Station by 7.10am weekdays and 6.50am on Saturdays in time for the train, which leaves at 7.25am on weekdays and 7am on Saturdays.

Passengers need a valid V/Line ticket for free travel or the standard fare of $1 concession or $2 full applies.

When the train arrives at Maryborough at 6.25pm on weekdays and 6.35pm on Saturdays, the bus will leave five minutes later and drops passengers off as arranged inside the town boundary.

Bookings for the demand-responsive service must be made between 9am and 5pm before the day of travel.

An extended fixed-route service now operates from 7.13am to 3pm and 5pm to 6.30pm weekdays and from 7am to 9am and 5pm to 6.30pm on Saturdays.

For more information and bookings call Maryborough Transit during office hours on 5461 1038.

Route and timetable information will be available soon. Check this website for updates.
Cheers

At the launch they had a b&w A4 sheet available advertising the train connector. Unfortunately this wasn't included in the showbags - there was just a stack of them near the ticket office.

A Route 3 (Pascoe) service was timetabled to leave the station at 06:40 weekdays & 06:15 Saturdays, returning to the station 13 minutes later.

A Route 2 (Whirakee) service was timetabled to leave the station at 06:53 weekdays & 06:28 Saturdays, returning to the station 14 minutes later.

In the evenings, a bus would depart the station 5 minutes after the train arrival Monday - Saturday, and offer a on-request service around the town.

It would appear a demand responsive model in the morning has now been deemed more appropriate. The extended hours on the town services are also a plus.

Kind Regards
