Ventura: Route 768 Box Hill - Deakin Uni

Post by Craig »

The timetable & map for new Route 768 between Box Hill & Deakin University is now available on the Metlink website. The service will commence on July 19, the second week of trimester 2. The timetable is shown to operate until October 22 - suggesting the route may only operate during uni trimesters.

http://www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au/route/view/4801

It operates weekdays only, with a intervals ranging between 40 and 60 minutes. It takes a slightly different route than the 281 or 767, running down Station Street before turning into Canterbury Road, then Elgar Road, Burwood Hwy and Holland Avenue into the campus. A new stop is being installed on Canterbury Road at Surrey Park.

The service was a recommendation in the Manningham/Monash/Whitehorse bus review, which noted a need for increased services between Box Hill and Deakin Uni. In April, Route 281 was also extended to Deakin Uni. Note that 768 was initially announced as 767A. (see - http://www.premier.vic.gov.au/component ... /9972.html)

Kind Regards

Craig :)

A new combined pocket timetable has been produced for routes 281(Templestowe to Deakin University), 767(Box Hill to Southland SC) & 768(Box Hill to Deakin University) effective 19 July 2010 v.1 (Jul10).

As with the online timetable all route 768 trips in the printed timetable are marked as operating during Deakin University Trimesters 1 & 2.
