Details of new country bus services???

Hi guys.

The State Govvy is trumpeting all sorts of new bus services in Country Victoria as per this blurb -

But I am having lots of trouble finding ANY online information about some of these services other than this link - even though it claims some of them are already underway.

For instance the site claims the following:

- Hamilton town bus started November 13th
- Mortlake to Warrnambool started September 30th
- Hopetoun to Horsham via Rainbow - started 12 July
- Willaura to Ararat - started 11 July
- Kyneton to Bendigo - commencing December 2006
- Wallan/Kilmore - commencing December 2006
- Foster to Yarram - started 8 November 2006

Does anyone have any links or information on who operates these services and what the timetables are? Has anyone sen or travelled on them or have any information on whether they are well patronised?

http://www.viclink.com.au has timetables for most country buses - although recently quite a few have disappeared from that site

Also check local councils websites - some i.e. http://www.macedon-ranges.vic.gov.au/Pa ... Id=946&h=0 have a section for transport information

Thanks, yes, Viclink is a WOMBAT (Waste Of Money Bandwidth And Time)It isn't worth the paper its written on (!)

I have managed to find a couple of council links as follows as you suggest:
Bass Coast Shire

(Has Cowes-Wonthaggi, Cape Paterson and WOnthaggi to Traralgon timetables).

Wellington Shire

(Sale to Loch Sport)

But I cant find any reference to the Horsham-Rainbow-Hopetoun bus, nor the Warrnambool to Mortlake nor Ararat to Willaura routes.

Another site I'd suggest to try is Australian Rail Maps' journey planner, at http://www.railmaps.com.au/stationfinder.php

It lists the Willaura to Ararat route at least, and links to the Viclink site for a timetable, which isn't listed no more.
