Northern/Broadmeadows: Improvements from late Feb/Mid March

Dear All

Now available on the Broadmeadows Coaches website is the new route 544 (Broadmeadows - Craigieburn via Roxburgh Park) timetable and route description, shown to commence 26/2/06. See http://www.buslines.com.au/broadmeadows/bm_544.shtml

Only a weekday timetable (30 min intervals between 05:30 - 20:00) is provided - hopefully there will be a Saturday service as well.

Probably the most significant thing to note is that this service is jointly operated by both Northern Bus Lines and Broadmeadows Coaches. :shock:

The Sunday only route 769 is the only recent example of a Melbourne route been operated by two unconnected operators (FA Phillps and Frankston Passenger Services), but this has since been separated into two routes.

I'd suspect improvements previously announced for other routes by these operators will also commence around the same time.

Route 544 Saturdays

Hi everyone,


Yes- there are Saturday services on the Route 544.
It is the same 30 min. service frequency as Monday to Friday however, services commence at 6.00am and finish at 7.00pm out of both Broadmeadows and Craigieburn timepoints.

It is interesting to see a partnership between the two companies. Maybe it is a "cost effective way" to able to run this route. And better still, of the new routes that are due to start, I wonder how many of them may now be shared?

While it should probably read "Broadmeadows Town Centre", the term "Broadmeadows Shopping Centre" refers to that entire precinct, including the railway station. The original "Broadmeadows" is located in the area now better known as Dallas (and the Dallas post office was, until quite recently, called Broadmeadows).

The 544 Saturday timetables have now been uploaded onto both the Northern and Broadmeadows websites.

More information on the Northern changes. Some changes don't commence until Mid-March.

Picked up from Broadmeadows station today a copy of the 544 bus timetable dated 27 February 2006 in Orange Metlink format

The following new Northern Bus Lines timetables are now available.

Route 534 Merlynston to Glenroy

Route 536 Gowrie to Glenroy

Both in Metlink DL format dated 27 February 2006.

Broadmeadows Bus.

Picked up from Broadmeadows Bus this afternoon at Broadmeadows Station.

Route 532 Broadmeadows - Craigieburn via Upfield &

Route 533 Craigieburn North - Craigieburn South (New route) replace part of route 532.

Route 532 now terminates at Craigieburn Station Only.

Both Dated 27th February, 2006.

Both Orange Metlink DL format.

Route 532 & new route 533 both now available from Any Broadmeadows Buses.

Northern Bus.

New Bus timetables for routes 540, 541 & 542 commencing from Tuesday 14th March, 2006 for route 540 & routes 541 & 542 from Saturday 18th March, 2006 now available on Northernbus website.

See new 540, 541 and 542 timetables at http://www.northernbus.com.au/n_routes.html then click route 540 Monday to Friday timetables, route 541 Saturday timetables and route 542 Saturday timetable shows extra bus services in the evening.

New printed timetables for these routes are not yet available as at Tuesday 14/3.

They were still unavailable at the depot as at 1pm yesterday (6/7/06).

Hello,

New editions of the following Northern Bus Lines timetables are now available:

Route 538- Somerset Estate to Broadmeadows
Route 540- Upfield to Broadmeadows
Route 541- Rox. Park to Broadmeadows
Route 542- Rox. Park to Oak Park.

Each are dated 3rd September 2006.
These are the updated timetables for the route upgrades that took place during February and March this year (see above posts for details).

Broadmeadows Bus.

Picked up onbaord bus at Broadmeadows Station today.

Route 533 Craigieburn North - Craigieburn South new bus timetables dated 1st October, 2006 in metlink DL format.

The Changes are the bus leaves Craigieburn both North and South between 5 and 10 minutes earlier than normal times in the morning to connects train to Melbourne (Southern Cross) at Craigieburn Station (New V/line timetables already starts from 3rd September, 2006) in the morning peak before 7.30am then same as old timetables started from 27th February, 2006.
