Australian Company sets up office in Singapore

Post by jibb »

Tower Transit(London bus operator) a division of Transit Systems Australia has set up an office in Singapore as part of its strategy of bidding for some of Singapore's bus services which are being tendered out.
Heather Haselgrove previously CEO of Metro Tasmania and previously with Passenger Transport division in Adelaide is heading the setup which also includes a former SMRT executive.
They already have their own website http://www.towertransit.sg
As Singapores proposed new bus system is based on similar systems in Perth,Adelaide and Sydney, they should be able to put their experience to good use.

Busways also threw its head in the ring for Singapore's new tendering scheme and also made a new site as well: http://busways.sg
Seeing as this new system is similar TSA and Busways may have a bit of an advantage but these two Aussie companies are up against the big international firms-Arriva, Veolia-Transdev and Keolis to name a few.
