5 metre wide trains

Postby eddy » Sat Feb 10, 2018 6:33 am

For Badgerys creek to Waterloo a 200m radius turn at Central each side of it will allow the stand alone privately owned and operated line to use 5m wide carriages in the 6m diameter tunnels which will allow 4 seats either side of the centre or 3 each side with 2m standing room in the centre.

As the entry/recovery/lift shaft would only use half the grassed site next to Central station it only needs a fence and levelling before the blue (am male team) and pink (pm female team) can start the shaft.

The 6 members on each team working Monday to Friday would all be trained to operate a truck, mobile crane, excavator, roadheader and LHD with the shaft done with a small excavator using both a hydraulic rockbreaker and bucket in a reverse downward spiral always maintaining a second free face and securing the sides as they go.

A 2mx2mx2m kibble with hinged floor and remote catch would load one truck and dog per day when driving the shaft and ten loads per day when driving the station and future stub and for safety the 100m deep station would use travelators which can be driven with a small roadheader to wherever while big fast lifts would take you to any platform required as the new deep station would be at 90 degrees to the existing platforms.

An extra two hard rock TBM would be launched at Olympic park ASAP and reach central after the station and stub were driven so retrieval in the shaft can take place before the big outside elevator is installed these TBM would then drive west from the same Olympic park launch site and reach Parramatta after the pink and blue teams had finished allowing TBM recovery and big elevator installation to happen there too.

Checked the grass patch for an access/recovery/big lift shaft next to central today and it is even better than I remembered.

Here is a video of a small roadheader for the travelator https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9U94kDcp6c and some pictures of cheap painted stations https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesig ... n-pictures

I am desperate to see a start, Liberals are desperate to stay in power and the western women in Sunday transport march held up a sign that said don’t mess with the west and that is Labor heartland.
