Has the Rosa got air suspension?
They are a slick looking unit but I wish they had a six cylinder motor instead of a lousy four pot tractor engine.

I sincerely doubt it has air suspension..... as you have noted, they are quite agricultural machines!

A Coaster that vintage & a new turbo-charged one are like chalk and cheese.

I can remember when Coasters had 4 cyl engines. S.l.o.w!

I can also remember an after-market (rear) air suspension kit being available for them. Possibly a similar thing still around??

I am far from being a fan of these piles of scrap metal, so all I am doing here is relating my experiences as someone who has had the misfortune to drive the piles of junk.

Anybody who thinks the Toyota Coaster is a great bus should seek Profesional Help. :( Having driven some bad Mk2 Mercs, I would still rather the worst of those than the best Coaster. :!:

Wow, hold on there! I never said I liked them! I cringe when ever I see them mentioned on fleet lists coz in my book they ain't real buses! I was just pointing out that the newer once were a vast improvement on the older ones. Instead of thrashing around struggling to make 85km/h, with a new turbo 6sp one you're constantly struggling to keep under 100.

Herbert, I wasn't suggesting you in particular, just anyone that sees these piles of scrap metal as "good buses" should be seking Profesional Help. They should look in the phone book under "Mental Assylums." Unfortunatly for those of us who see a bus has being something a bit more than a sheep van or a pie cart, there are those sick individuals who actually like these piles of crap, and run around taking photos of them, foaming at the very sight of such incipid piles of rubbish.

These same sorry individuals have mostly never driven a bus, let-alone a Coaster or similar.

I always maintain that a real bus has its front wheels behind the driver and front door (and don't start me off on those crappy American school buses seen in every movie since TV was invented)
If overhang is involved - it's real :)

I did a job for The Vines in their Civilian the other night. Bus? No chance.
Large gutless van and nothing more.

Sorry, the "resort" not the band.
Either way the vehicle sucks.

Never been in a Rosa, was in a Coaster though, the older model with the six. It was a full seating load of yr11s from my school and I tell you what it went hard, no lack of power at all!

Wether you are obsessed with the things or not, mini buses only serve a niche for those that need something with more capacity than a Toyota Tarago to move a few people around twice a day if that.
They simply bear no comparison with a 10 tonne bus.
