Forum clock

Post by Timbo52 »

Just wondering why is the forum clock 1 hour ahead of actual time. Does it not reset automatically at daylight saving start and finish?

As it says on the right bottom of the screen, all times are UTC +11 hours. As I post, UTC (GMT) is currently 1.09 am, so the post time should be 12.09pm, even though it is 11.09am in the eastern states.

Go to your UCP, under preferences set your local time zone (UTC+10 for eastern states). In the next line check the DST option box, it is not automatic.

It can not automatically change at daylight start/finish as not all areas have daylight savings and even those who do, change at different times. The software does not support that.

IIRC, the time on the forum is linked to the hosting server., not the computer system time.

I recall in the past thast the board time has been a few minutes different to (real) system time.

Normally 1-3 minutes fast for me. Not that I really look at it.

If it is a time zone error, it would be out by multiples of 30 minutes, not 43.
Eastern stater's should be on UTC+10, and change it to UTC+11 for DST

Remember to reset your clock for Daylight Savings if you are in a state which has that.
