Skipped 10 hours
When I first tried to log on this morning at about 8am the system appeared to be down.
I notice that all posts after the system came back, have skipped 10 hours ie all posts which should carry a time of 8am show time of 4pm.
A couple of weeks ago a similar thing happened to Bus Australia php scripts where I lost 10 hours in the opposite direction which I had fixed for some scripts like the Busaustralia home page but it now also shows 4pm instead of 8am so I may need to reverse that fix.
But I am not in a position to fix it for the Discussion Board.

AEC Decker noticed that this morning and thought WTF is going on, how could people be posting 9 hours ahead of the current time.Fleet Lists wrote:I notice that all posts after the system came back, have skipped 10 hours ie all posts which should carry a time of 8am show time of 4pm.

Re: Skipped 10 hours
I too noticed that the time has skipped ahead by 10 hours when checking times for last post in one forum. It says Sunday 18th July @ 4.20pm. Current time is 10.07am.

Re: Skipped 10 hours
Somebody has set the UTC server time incorrectly then. Therefore when we add +10 hours for Eastern Australia we end up with a clock that is ten hours ahead. The hosting company needs to correct the problem.
PS
When I checked myself it appears we are only eight hours ahead? Setting the time to GMT puts me two hours behind.

Re: Skipped 10 hours
My mistake - it should be 8 hours.
I believe the error does not relate to Greenwich mean time.
My understanding is that we are on an Australian server of a US operation and that for US users of the server they are trying to show US times and Australian times for Australian users but they dont seem to be very successful.

Re: Skipped 10 hours
I corrected the fleet lists home page - but not actually reversing the previous change as I still needed to adjust by two hours
Also the time change for this change on the server itself showed as 8.43am instead of 10.43am.
And the time shown is about four minutes slow. ie the above time should have been 10.47am.

Re: Skipped 10 hours
The time appears to have corrected itself this morning.
Which also means I will again have to change the fleet lists time as it is now eight hours behind.
By means of a report I received advice that one perosn could no longer post until after eight hours had elapsed so that he would post after his most recent post. I dont know any way around that - hopefully most of will have had eight hours sleep and will be able to post this morning at least for some who posted early this morning, after 9.49am which is the post currently with the latest time.

It has certainly caused some fun & games on the forum. Replies are appearing before the original post.Fleet Lists wrote:The time appears to have corrected itself this morning.

Re: Skipped 10 hours
We can not correct the times in posts which received incorrect times at the time of posting. Times in current posts will be correct - hence some posts within a thread being out of sequence.
