Allowed file extensions

Is there a list of allowed attachment file types anywhere?
I have had a look around and cannot find a such list - I attempted to attach some PDF's but was not allowed

gif, jpeg, jpg, png, tga, tif, tiff

are the only permitted extensions at this stage.

If you have a .pdf document, you will need to upload it to a host and provide a URL to its location as a link in your post.
