Re: "Board attachment quota has been reached" ?
On most boards users have a limit to how many attachments they can upload to the server.
You'd need to go to 'manage attachments' in 'User Control Panel' and delete some of your older ones.

Get a Photobucket account, it's free and easy to use.system improver wrote:Oh no!

Got one today! I do have a flickr account but I don't really want to add crappy photos on it (IE: Photographs that didn't turn out on how I've would had liked)

Re: "Board attachment quota has been reached" ?
Thanks Ryan. There's nothing in the rules/guidelines about this, but makes sense. I've now made lots of deletions. I've had a photobucket account for ages and that was my preferred method of attaching photos, but when the board changed over early last year all my links were broken. I'm not going there again, not with this board anyway.Ryan wrote:On most boards users have a limit to how many attachments they can upload to the server.

No worries. Probably not something that has been listed in the rules - one of the administrators could advise what they've set the user limit at I'd say.Centralian wrote:Thanks Ryan. There's nothing in the rules/guidelines about this, but makes sense.

The attachment problem has been fixed.
Unfortunately this isn't something the software can do automatically so it needs to be manually done every few months.
I won't say exactly how much space is allocated to attachments but it is a large amount of space.

Yes I also use Photobucket. It's the only way to go. You can upload countless photos of AEC deckers, pics of Port Labotamy & heaps of bloatersAEC Decker wrote:Get a Photobucket account, it's free and easy to use.system improver wrote:Oh no!

But are the any limitations on the word "VERY" and how many times you can use it in one sentence ??

Photbucket is preferred if you are using an off-site photo storage server to link to the board. Myself and several other users have trouble viewing photographs that are hosted on 'imageshack'.

Another one that I use if Facebook as you can set permission on each folder, but have unlimited storage. But viewers do need to be a member as well (as far as I know).

Re: "Board attachment quota has been reached" ?
Indeed. Linking photos to Facebook is largely a waste of time as not everyone is a member of that site (such as myself) and therefore wouldn't be able to see your pics.

Actually, you can have public photo albums which as far as I can tell don't require a membership, although I haven't tried it to any great degree so I may have wrongly interpreted something.

Re: "Board attachment quota has been reached" ?
You have to be a member of Facebook to view any files. As far as I know, the 'public' you refer to means that anyone on Facebook can look at the photos, not just that person's "friends".

I too, have reached my quota, so I joined Photobucket as suggested by many fellow board members. However, HOW??? when I post a thread now, how do I attach pictures?? Do I still press the attachment and once I do, HOW do I access my photos on Photobucket OR how do I attach a "link". Sorry 2 B a pest.[/b]

This was writen by Renault PR100.3 on the ACT Bus (an ACT transport fan website) & I hope that this is a help.

First you need to have the photos uploaded to a web host, eg. fotopic, photobucket, flickr, etc. I would recommend photobucket.
Find the picture you want post, on photobucket run your mouse over the pic and it will come up with a series of links, copy the Direct link.
Now go to the topic you are startinc on ACT Bus Forum and put img tags around the pasted links like this but with these [] around img, otherwise the image will post and you won't be able to see the linking

Yeah, just press enter after the [/img] & type whatever you like or type your message before the [img]. I hope that wasn't too confusing?
