Like although the larger style hub reduction axles would have been nicer.... imagine listening to them for hours on end on the highway....

Agreed. They just re-issued the spues as they were originally. However, if you want Italeri, German-style hubs, you can get them with the 'Wheels Rims & Mud Guards' accessories kit.
