Here are some photos of my nearly complete diorama of "Burke" - a made up siding somewhere in the outback on the Adelaide-Darwin line.
I'm yet to ballast it and the crossing needs signs... but I'll get to that in due time.
I had taken what I'd considered to be a good shot of the train on the layout, but in the background was my computer chair and some cables, so I tried the photoshop treatment. I think I preferred the cables.
NR74 slowing to stop at Burke, it looks like someone is being picked up from the train.
Another shot of NR74 as the train slows.
It looks as though the East West Express caught this spotter by surprise... I wonder why its running so far north
Australian Rail Cruise locomotive GM21 pulls into Burke with a special train.
The nose of the loco as it draws past the siding.
A wider shot of the loco and the siding.
As the train pulls out, some of the remnants of the narrow gauge passing siding are still visible but sadly beyond repair.
