Have noticed TV 988, still with Charterplus accreditation, over the last 2 weeks or so at Katoomba depot. This is a Volvo B7R
with Volgren 'C221SX' body, originally with Toronto BS. All white with no markings.

Hi there, I'm new to this website
I've been a bus fan for years and have always wondered exactly what happens to the actual bus when it is withdrawn from a company.
Do you know, like for these ones you've posted as an example?
Thanks, Sarah

Welcome busesobsessed. It's up to the owner what they want to do with the bus - sell it to another operator, scrap it to Simms Metals or the like, sell to a private buyer for conversion to a mobile home or shed,
preservation, or just sit on it if you've got the space. Katoomba depot (in the example you use) have a few sitting around unregistered and then one day they're gone. Was the case with the former Trolley Tours vehicles.

Hi Centralian, thanks for your reply. Do you (or anyone) know exactly what they did with 3742 MO after it was withdrawn? I've always liked that bus.

CDC typically send their withdrawn buses to scrap, so there would be a high chance of that outcome. All disposal information where known is added to the fleet list.

Thanks for your reply, Daniel. At the moment, it only said de-registered on the disposal fleet list. Does that mean it's just being stored somewhere? (Sorry for all my questions)

Seen at Katoomba depot for about the last 2 weeks is TV 8068, the M-Benz 0404-3 PMCA Apollo (previously TV 1045 with BMBC & Pearce) still in blue & yellow stripes livery.
Remains accredited to Charterplus St Marys and appears to be the allocated Jenolan Caves tour vehicle for now.
The former Transborder M-Benz 0500RF-3 (6618 MO) in CDC Tours markings remains in the shed.
The Volvo Volgren TV 988 has not been seen at Katoomba for some months now and I suspect has returned to St.Marys.

It’s possible its stored somewhere, scrapped or sold. It’s just not know for sure so no further details have been added yet.

CDC Tours liveried 6618 MO is back on the road at Katoomba doing the Jenolan Caves run, while TV 8068 has now departed, assume back to St Mary's.

Noticed 2 convoys of ex StationLink buses today making their way to the Blue Mountains - checked depots later in the day and approx 6 or 8 at Emu Plains and about 6 to Katoomba.
Didn't notice any at Valley Heights. All still on m/o plates. Some have had pink removed, some still retain.

Yeah, I noticed a StationLink Volgren today (24/07/19) going up the hill under the Glenbrook Railway bridge on the M4. It had all its pink StationLink signage removed except for the rear. I was travelling fast in the oppostie direction, so couldn't see fleet number. Glad Blue Mountains are finally getting new buses.

I took a photo this morning of m/o 6880; m/o 6890; m/o 6914; and m/o 6917 in the shed at Katoomba depot. taptap23 (above) has also identified m/o 6897 in Katoomba.
So that's 5 at least at Katoomba depot. 6880 still has the pink bumper area.

Was at Katoomba depot today, and saw all 5 ex Station-Link buses in the depot, all displaying Not in Service, albeit one still with a pink bumber. Also managed to score one of these buses on my morning school bus. (not sure which one).
The screen that showed the Station Link routes and next stops was still on the bus, but not in use.

I'm glad Katoomba is now getting these ex-Station Link buses. It is about time, as there are quite a few older buses that need replacing, (which I know that is why they have been transferred to the Blue Mtns).

Also, according to Fleetlists, 5 have been transferred to Katoomba depot. None yet at Valley Heights or Emu Plains.

Hope this is of use to fellow readers. :)

As I mentioned earlier, sighted quite a few at Emu Plains on Tuesday. Just don't have their rego at this time.

Edit: After posting above I checked Fleetlists and these now show the vehicles at Emu Plains and a few at Valley Heights.

From a CDC blog
Our Blue Mountains Transit team is excited to welcome the newest additions to the fleet!

Fourteen newly commissioned buses arrived at our Emu Plains, Valley Heights, and Katoomba depots ready to connect customers in comfort across the Blue Mountains region.

Managed to catch m/o 6880 as my morning bus today (01/08/19). Also, saw it on a 685 service at Leura going towards Wentworth Falls. The rear bumper has been relieved of its pink Station Link pink stickers, but the front still sports its pink Station Link stickers.
Hope this is of use to fellow readers and viewers. :)

Noticed last week that 2162 MO is now operating school runs out of Emu Plains depot (ex Katoomba).

I'm new to the forum but a long time viewer - I'm looking to find images of each bus in the Blue Mountains Bus Co/ Blue Mountains Transit fleet list disposal lists for nostalgia. I used to catch many of these for school runs, but over time and with the new Station Link buses coming in most of the ex school buses have now been deregistered and there aren't too many pictures around when doing Google searches.

Thanks!
