Good work with the site, although I don't really like the colours used. Seems a bit too bright and hurts my eyes when I'm looking at the site now...

Work & other commitments have prevented me from restoring more of the links previously on the WA fleet lists - but as many of you have already noticed, you can once again search on regos, chassis nos, etc.

I thought, however, that you might be interested to know that during this "down" period, there's someone out there who has been repeatedly sending me abusive emails complaining about the site being down. Here's a sample of this bloke's choice attitude:

why isn't this back up yet

whats taking you so f.u.cking long

Come on where the bloody hell is this sight. You have had long enough get it up

Amazing, isn't it?

Plain rude. Its a great site, personally its sad how someone cannot appreciate the amount of work , time, effort that goes into the building, maintenaince and ongoing updating into websites. Id like to see what this person is capable of doing and judging by their grammer skill aka "sight" , id say his/her education is not of the highest standard.

Agreed, What kind of moron makes demands on something we all get free access to anyway? Wasn't costing any of us money while it was down!

We are all fortunate there is a fantastic fleet list site like this one but we should never take anything for granted, sheesh!

Some people have no idea and no patience these days. Most of us know that Herb works full time and has other commitments outside of work and working on the website. We are the people who understand how hard it can be juggling so many things and to find time to work on our hobbies.
Looking to getting more Transperth bus models made up, doing a batch of Volvo B7R's currently.

Well - it's a great site and it is a great shame that it isn't up and running [I miss checking up on the new and exciting information on the private buses] Is there anything we can do to assist you in making it come along quicker?

I'd dare say other members would be willing to put their hand up!

I know it has been a long and painful process to get the perthbus.info website up and fully running.

How long will it be before the PTA Contractors link have information come up? Most of the TransBunbury buses operated by Veolia have now been repainted from Bunbury City Transport livery to TransBunbury livery and I would like to view the fleet at the website.

Thanks

Because we're bus nutters...

It is a bit of a bummer for those who use perthbus.info for more than just getting the gen and shots. Hopefully it gets back up some time soon...

3 months to go on the current hosting contract, so all sorts of alternative options are being considered.

An html only version of the main page is now up.

If their suspending your site, without saying why, etc, isn't the hosting company breaking the contract?

Re: www.perthbus.info website suspended!

Just an update:

The new database is still being worked upon - but so is the computer guru's engine, so understandably the database is the poorer cousin!

At this stage I cannot risk allowing public access to the old site as the hosting company is immediately suspending the site as soon as server load reaches a (pathetically low) level. When they do this, I cannot access anything including emails, any files via ftp, the database itself.

There has also been the problem where certain visitors have been hammering the database (perhaps trying to download and save as many photos as possible?) during the few times it has been up & running again. This has obviously resulted in server spikes & therefore the plug being pulled. As I say, I cannot risk that happening again.

So, sorry that you can't access the WA fleet lists at this time. Alternative hosting solutions are being investigated for when my current contract expires.

In the meantime, I'll post monthly update summaries in this section of ATDB.

Thanks for your understanding, and please, please, please keep getting the gen & taking the shots.
