Briefly caught sight of a Merc in STA livery with numberplate ZIM... Anybody know whose bus it is now?
Southbound in Pacific Highway at St Leonards about 17.40 tonight (Tue 15th Aug)

To add to this, you will find numerous Mk2 Mercs in the Liverpool area, not on m/o, MO, or TV plates. This is, as pointed out in another topic, dueto chages in RTA policy regarding the issuing of these plates, however the odd bus (not necesarily an ex STA Merc) does get m/o plates now and then. It also seem sthat those operators who have them, are in no hurry to waste money changing to TV plates.
New website up and running, showing mostly trains and some trams.

Is it RTA or MoT policy??
A few years ago a friend of mine had accreditation for two vehicles, both on TV plates. He bought a third new unit, with the intention of subsequently selling off one of the older ones. The RTA told him he couldn't get another TV plate because he was only allowed 2, but happily gave him ordinary plates for it.

Don't bet on that! You would surely know by now that the RTA is as money hungry as anybody else. I would expect them to charge the bus companies atleast $50 to swap the plates over. Remember when the school lights were phased in on the buses? The companies had to pay for that themselves! Then there's the issue of video survelliance cameras in the buses... The BCA or the politicians didn't pay for that.MAN_LOVER wrote:You would find in the event of the RTA requiring companies to change plates over due to thier own muck ups would not need to pay.Leopard Lover wrote:It also seem sthat those operators who have them, are in no hurry to waste money changing to TV plates.
