New Westside Volvo B7RLEs
Hi
Westside Bus Co at Ipswich recently received six brand new Volvo B7RLEs with a Volgren CR228L body. All of these units have replaced older buses in the fleet. Here are shots of gour of them.
01WBC in Bell Street. This is a replacement for a Hicom bodied Csepel.
20WBC at Orion Springfield. This replaced the old 20, a Mercedes Benz OH1316/Ansair.
21WBC at Redbank. This is also a replacement for the a Mercedes Banz OH1316/Ansair.
22WBC is pictured departing Riverlink Shopping Centre. Another replacement for the Mercedes Benz OH1316/Ansair.
Here is a rear shot. Note the badge - BR7.

Re: New Westside Volvo B7RLEs
Good pics, thanks Noel.
Interesting they have been fitted with NSW spec school lights at the back. They'll look even better when the TransLink stickers go on, although I would have left the bit under the windscreen black or gunmetal grey and not green.
The 'BR7' might have been someone at Volgren having a boo boo (assuming the badge comes in three pieces). It's meant to be B7R as far as I know. Were the other ones like this?

These would be part of the 20-odd stock unit B7RLE's that were bodied by Volgren. Similar units have been demonstrated in NSW and VIC and some have delivered to Carbridge, Reservoir Bus Co and soon to Dysons I believe.

Brilliant photos as usual mate!!
Excellent work!!
The green (albeit a slightly different shade of it) reminds me of Transit First ....

Re: New Westside Volvo B7RLEs
That's an odd place to put the broom on top of the dashboard! I am use to seeing these low floor Volgrens with the black plastic underneath the windscreen which would look better than green IMO.
Re: New Westside Volvo B7RLEs
I have to agree. Having some colour over the Volgren 'smile' works for some liveries like the one on RCCTS 1-4 in Perth or the Smartbuses in Melbourne, but TL green looks a bit off on them. I am pleased that they have gone for rear doors and the whole 9 yards on destination displays, although that would likely be a result of them being ex-stock buses.DarrenH wrote:That's an odd place to put the broom on top of the dashboard! Someone must have been busy with HELEN recently as Westside looks to have had some reprogramming - those displays look much better than the previous set.
