Nice shots of the Old Sunshine Coast Coaches fleet.

IIRC back in the late 80s and early 90s they had quite a extensive network. They had the local runs, school runs, Noosa-Brisbane Coach intercity runs and also Suntour as well.

It was the Qld state government shake up in the mid 90s which saw them lose a few contracts, and they ended up mainly as a charter/tour operator in the late 90s before they folded.

Local services was awarded to Transit Australia via Sunbus. School services bought out by Stagecoach (which in turn got bought out by Buslink), Intercity services went to Suncoast Pacific (which in turn was bought out by Greyhound Australia).

Another great collection of memories there venturatiger, thanks for sharing. I always loved those GM and Cummins powered route and school buses.

They were the best looking / maintained coaches on the road. Just look at those Landseers. There are still a few around today, Crisps at Warwick have 1 or two, there is another in Bundaberg? I think, they have lost that immaculate presentation now though!
Also a quick note: Sunshine Coast Coaches, was sold by the Grant Family after the Late Alistair Grant passed away, it was in the hands of the wonderful British Harry Blundred group when the beginning of the end happened.
He would have been like a rotary hoe spinning in his grave if he saw how his coaches ended up. What a shame

Edit: The last pic was a AP, not a MCA.

The AP is at Polleys Gympie still going strong in the Sunshine Coast livery. I usually see it on tours around the South East Queensland area.

Linking to a thread of SUN 00 (MCA route bus) now at Tamworth. It was delivered as a 2-door bus, but has since has been converted to a one-door bus.

Here's a pic of one of their coaches (no idea as to it's number) that I took
while on a charter to Castlemain Vic in the '90's.
It shows the care given to the coaches by their drivers.

It would of been interesting to see the Sunshine Coast Coaches livery on a low floor vehicle.
Would you have a look at that K-Whopper hallin' that Wriggle Wagon hes got it to the floor and looking for more!
