[SYD] The Flying Wallaby, and more

Postby kitkat271 » Sun Jun 17, 2007 10:03 am

Some more recent plane photos. Enjoy. 8)

The Flying Wallaby? Qantas painted gold scarves on their 767 (VH-OGL) as recognition of the Wallabies' upcoming World Cup campaign in France. Looks very smart too - why isn't this on a 747? Somebody must have a good sense of humour as the plane heads for New Zealand ...

The Vietnam Airlines livery is one of my favourites and certainly my favourite livery on a 777 - just ahead of the beautiful polished aluminium look of American Airlines. The VN livery also looks like it changes colour under different lighting conditions too, just like those "green" Kowloon Motor Bus deckers!

June saw the replacement of the Thai Airways 747's on the morning flight. This livery looks ok on a 777.

The much delayed Emirates 419 (operated by A6-ERF) finally arrives at Sydney. After an almost 15 hour flight from Dubai the passengers had to wait on board the aircraft for a few hours in Canberra due to fog in Sydney - of course they can't get off as Canberra doesn't have active immigration facilities to process them.

I love the swirling clouds behind this Air China A330 (B-6073) as she roars down 16R. Too bad both Air China & China Southern have swapped the 777 for A330 on their Australian runs.

To be honest I am not quite sure myself why it is not a 747, but I am sure there is a good reason. Personally though I think the livery actually look better on a 767 and not a 747 because of the 2 floor layout. Also the 747's already have alot of extra liveries. I think lets just let the 767 have it's time in the sun.

I was browsing around the forums of Planes and came across it, so I tought I would answer back and tell how I feel about the 767 livery.

The gears are still down its just that the concrete k-rails are blocking view of the centre gears.
