[Vic] A Deluxe Coachlines rarity

While Deluxe Coachlines were known for their interstate express operations, they also acquired in 1982 a short interstate service from Wangaratta in Vic to Corowa in NSW. This run was acquired from George Griffiths of Corowa with a PMC Bedford and Toyota minibus. The minibus went to Sydney to operate their 'western connection' for passengers from Penrith and Blacktown to link with their express services. Deluxe bought the above Denmak to operate the Wangaratta - Corowa service and it was based in Wangaratta on Victorian plates - BNN 079 as shown in my photo above. (In the left background can be seen Cullens depot).

Below is the same vehicle with Chalmers in the late '70's, who traded it in to domino who in turn sold it to Deanes in April 1979 where it was registered mo 7053. Deluxe purchased the vehicle from Deanes in 1982.
The vehicle was a denmak with domino denning body of October 1975 and powered by GM6V53 and Allison auto. (Information researched from various editions of Fleetline).

Interesting, you have created another discussion point in our group. We recall the vehicle, but not the usage of it. Thanks for posting.

Does this count as Deluxe coachlines rarity? :P

It's located at Tweed Heads. I could swear that colour scheme is identical to that of Deluxe Coachlines.
Is that the truth or did you read about it in a Rail Back on Track media release?

That would have been one of the depot vans. I'll ask around to see if anyone knows

Its either a coincidence or someone painted their van as tribute.
