One odd Orana.

Postby Swift » Wed Nov 08, 2006 6:36 pm

I stumbled upon this MAN coach with Ansair Orana style bodywork. It is enormous and looked like it may be 14.5 m in length like STA's longbuses.
The coach driver remarked "your'e keen" when I asked him if it was alright to take a shot  .

Maybe the post is in the way, but it seems to have only a single rear axle, so doubt it would be 14.5 long

It is a MAN 22.360 HOCL/Ansair. This Coach used to operate for Sussex Bus, but has since been sold to Bankstown Coaches and still carries the Sussex Bus livery.

Here is a link to a picture of the above vehicle when it was still with Sussex Bus.

Now, I'm willing to admit the Orana is my favourite type of bus body, but that really looks bad on that coach in my opinion

haha, it hasn't been George's Pride since it was with Roadcoach, Ulladulla before Sussex Bus.

There is a sister to this unit, MO 0330, which is still at Sussex Bus. However, it has 3x2 school bus seating to acomodate for 90 passengers.

My scanner is currently out of action to show any pics of it at Roadcoach, so here is one of MO 0330 from Denair's fantastic fotopic site:

Sorry to drag up an old post, but did this bus actually operatate for Bankstown Coaches as stated in the posts above. The fleetlists doesn't show it as having been with them.

Nah, owned by Australian Luxury Travelm, but previously parked at the Bankstown depot. Wait till you see it now.

Yes I have seen it too, it does have two rear axles.
I would like to see a Scania 14.5 next to this but getting that image may be hard to achieve as not many scania 14.5's operate from Central/Pitt St Haymarket.
