[SCOOP!] Transperth 1797 now with Southern Coast Transit

Post by PoweredByCNG »

G'day all,

The fleet swap has commenced. Mercedes-Benz O 405 NH CNG (1797) was recently transferred from PATH Transit Morley to it's new home at Southern Coast Transit Fremantle. Here are some photos of it taken in East Perth today.

How long until those Mercs start overheating because near to half the rear vent is covered?

(especially those with the CNG pods like the one pictured!)

Do the perth ones have the section in the middle that's just backed with cardboard?

Nice shots Davey.

Those front indicators are dreadful!

What do the SCT drivers think of it?

The night drivers love it. It seems to be out every night now.

If 1797-1819 didn't get transferred to Southern Coast Transit it would have been doing routes e.g 345F or 349T.

Malaga/Bayswater didn't operate the 376-379 services after the first couple of years after privatisation. They were operated by Trigg/Joondalup/Wangara.

1797 & 1811-1819 spent most of their time on the circle as they were at Malaga. 1798-1810 spent their time on Morley Contract Mainline services and Feeders, as they were at Bayswater. 1798 and 1799 were unable to do night shift as they did not have security cabs.

Just for the record, a full list of the services they operated:

16
17
18
19
20
21
22
38 - Not the Perth to Cloverdale service
41
42
43
44
46 - what the old 38 became
47 - Combined 62/63
48
49 - Combined 58/61/344
50 - Combined 64/65
51 - Part of the 344
52 - 349
55
57 - Morley to Morley SHS via Noranda
58 - 346
59 - 343
60
61 - 343/345 to Beechboro Rd/Amamzon Dve, then R-Amazon Dve, L-Sacramento Ave to Terminus
62 - 342
63 - 341 to terminate at old 341 deviation timing point
64 - 371
65 - 347
66 - Both variants
67

69 - 67 Deviations
98 - 998
99 - 999
355
368
376 - Early post privatization
377 - Early post privatization
378 - Early post privatization
379 - Early post privatisation
404 - 904
505 - 905
600 - Gloucester Park - Perth Train Station - Perth City Busport (EQBS) - Casino
602 - Gloucester Park - Perth Train Station - Perth City Busport
603 - Gloucester Park to Burswood Casino
606 - 906
611 - AFL Special Service - Morley Bus Station to Subiaco Oval
615 - AFL Special Service - Curtin University Bus Station - Subiaco Oval
707 - 907
777 - WSBS to ECU Mt. Lawley - Became 885
885 - old 777
886 - WSBS to Alexander Heights via Illawarra Cres. Sth.
887 - WSBS to Alexander Heights via Illawarra Cres. Nth
889 - WSBS to Ballajura
904
905
906
907
908

That's as comprehensive as I can go for now. There were exceptions when a handful of Marmion/Wanneroo Contract trips were covered by them... (Midnight 346 on a Saturday Night done by 1816 comes to mind)
If it's not a ZF, take it back!
