Re: NSW Rail Observations March & April 2011

The seating is the major issue for me, I have been on certain H-sets where the seats haven't been to hard and others where it is like cement slabs. I haven't seen any articles about Central Coast commuters complaining, must have to dig a little deeper and read them :)

Re: New CityRail Timetable - Starts 8th May

I don't find them that bad, some feel like you are sitting on bricks. I wouldn't praise them tho. I am annoyed at making a very overcrowded popular peak hour service only 4 cars, yet the 6V's Gosford-Central became 8H straight away. It's funny the cityrail customer charter 2011 quotes "By Decem...

Re: NSW Rail Observations March & April 2011

Weekend express stopping pattern is Bondi Jctn all to Redfern, Wolli Creek, Hurstville, Sutherland, Waterfall, Helensburgh, Thirroul, Nth Wollongong, Wollongong and all to Kiama excluding Kembla Grange only used if there is an event there. Limited stops stopping pattern is Bondi Jctn all to Redfern,...

Re: New CityRail Timetable - Starts 8th May

Yeah, I seen that I think it is the 74 extra cars and the additional 25 they purchased as well. I sent further feedback in regards to other services on the line that are currently 6V and need to be 8 cars. Hopefully I will get a response about that as well. I think it's great they are replacing olde...

Re: NSW Rail Observations March & April 2011

In regards to platforms not being able to cater for 8 car services, these are the stations I know of that can hold 8 cars: Otford can take (8H/T), Stanwell Park (8H/T) 8V is just off the platform not by much, Austinmer (8H/T), Thirroul (8V/H/T), Woonoona (8V/H/T), North Wollongong (8V/H/T), Wollongo...

Re: New CityRail Timetable - Starts 8th May

I agree with you there, because the 6:50 Kiama-Central service on the odd occasion been 4H it had commuters standing through the carriage holding on to seats and continued to get worse as the journey continued to Central. It is stupid making 6V a 4H service, whereas Gosford-Central services that wer...

Re: NSW Rail Observations March & April 2011

I've done a couple of Sunday trips to/from Kiama in a 4H and there have been standing passengers, who might otherwise have got seats in a 6V. I sometimes commute during weekends there have been people standing sometimes to Thirroul from Central. I hope once more Oscars are in service some weekend s...

Re: NSW Rail Observations March & April 2011

Re the Oscar carriages replacing the V sets on the South Coast line, the response I got was virtually identical to nathan1987's, although mine went on to say that they'd forward my request for an 8 car train for the 0513 Kiama-Central service through --Phil. I hope it will become 8 cars, because th...

Re: New CityRail Timetable - Starts 8th May

I received an email back referring to my feedback I sent, stating the capacity of the 4H will meet the demands of the 6V, also that as the Oscar trains are progressively delivered they will replace the Intercity trains currently operating on the South Coast Line. I really hope on other two 6V servic...

Re: NSW Rail Observations March & April 2011

I sent feedback in regards to timetable about a service that is currently a 6V reduced to 4H on the South Coast line Central-Kiama service/Kiama-Service. I received an email back saying the capacity of the 4H will meet the demands of the 6V, also that as the Oscar trains are progressively delivered ...

Re: New CityRail Timetable - Starts 8th May

I sometimes catch 5:13am Kiama-Central service, the times I have been on it. It has been full by Thirroul-Austinmer being a 6V, hopefully it does become 8H. Just like the Gosford-Central services that gained an additional stop at West Ryde when they became 8H and I posted feedback as well about the ...
