Re: State Transit / Transit Systems Ansair Orana Retirement

The Scania L113CRBs are starting to be withdrawn. 3 buses from Ryde withdrawn, 3462, 3472 and 3474. They're in worse shape than the last four Mercedes O4O5 '516 buses at Ryde?? Surely their days are numbered. 3530-3 were built in 1998. The equivalent bus by age in the STA fleet is Volvo B10BLE 3886...

Re: STA Observations - July to December 2018

I imagine B-Line has been a victim of its own success and that this is a ploy to spread the load a bit. I gather Opal data has highlighted that B-Line is packed yet the Exx services are relatively under-utilised. Without any large marketing campaigns, the L90 developed a kind of cult following over...

There are stockpiles of materials built up on the approaches to Kings Cross & Edgecliff Stations, I guess the ESR stations are about to loose their individual identities.

Re: NSW Railway Observations - January to June 2018

The Sunday Telegraph has a strong editorial today: Typical populist 'me me me' attitude. Our society is made up of everyone, not just you Mr Editor and online trolls. We pay enough taxes in this country with full fares only paying for 20% of the cost. Fare free day is nothing more than robbing Pete...

Re: STA Observations - December 2017

There's a lot of over-simplification going on here. Just because some routes share parts of their paths doesn't mean that they are the same services and can be directly compared. ALL routes which operate along or cross the B1's path can be considered feeders services to it, but they also carry a lar...

Several others including 1258 & 1259 are at Custom Bus. The orange is an excellent idea considering the highway environment these buses operate in, no using the 'I didn't see the bus' argument with these ones.

Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach

A yellow framed waiting seat has appeared under the awning at the current bus stop at Collaroy Shops. Large yellow inverted L shaped brackets are appearing at locations including Neutral Bay Jn outbound. That former ALP government simply cut services to the bone in 2004-7 in terms of trains and buse...

The 170's are additional services laid over the top of the current timetable, demand for travel between Wynyard and Manly was recognised so these services have been put on. They were introduced this year and as no paper TT's were printed for the Oct 2016 review, none have been printed. Although load...

Are you certain of that? Traditionally, the allnighter driver has always picked up a standard bus either at Big Bear or Watson St and operated the first half doing 247s or other local N routes. At around 2450, he does a 151 from QVB to Mona, arriving at around 2615, has a 30 minute crib, then takes...

Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach

It's normally caused by traffic elsewhere in the city clogging up York & Margaret Sts. When traffic is quiet (lake the last three weeks) you can get a lot of buses coming in at the same time, which causes a bank up. Wynyard generally doesn't suffer the horriffic bus tailbacks onto the Bridge sin...

Re: 2017 Train & Bus timetable changes

That would depend on the scope of the train TT changes and how they will affect connections with the current bus TT's. If there is no or marginal change to connection times there is no need to link the implementation dates of the TT's, but if the train changes affect connections the implemantations ...

Re: Newcastle light rail, renewal & integrated transport

The definition of 'Region' is obvious to most of us here, but to the punters calling something 'Newcastle Region' or 'Lake Macquarie Region' is something quite different. It would be the equivilent of having a 'Sydney Region' bus map and leaving regions 1 & 15 off. What if CDC put out an equivil...
