Re: Which SL200?

1684 at Orewa also had a Voith gearbox.
1682 had a Merc gearbox and a fantastic bus to drive. Last heard of at Mt. Ruapehu running up to the skifields.

Arahura, renamed Ahura for her delivery voyage to the breakers, is now at Alang and in the process of being broken up.
She provided 32 years of service on the run between Wellington & Picton.

Re: 15 Double decker for Howick and Eastern

The first one is in service on the Route 500 Mission Heights to Auckland & v.v.
Currently it runs at different times and not every day.

The second double decker has now arrived in H&E's yard.

Re: General - Auckland (Part 3)

Be interested to see a photo of 2016 & 2019. I have fond memories of those from my days at Orewa Depot. 2016 was always a bit quicker than the others and I took a school group to the opening of the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland in her.

Here's a photo of 2020 when it still worked, somewhere in Mangere 3 September 2012.

Yes they do, but there was a fault with them (showing wrong numbers), so they have been disconnected.

Re: General - North Island (Part 2)

Seen early this evening near Katikati, a broken down tag axle "Valley Flyer" being attended by Rowes (of Tauranga) large salvage truck and a smaller van - presumably a mechanic from somewhere. Couldn't see the number clearly as my view was blocked by a large truck but could have been 2400....

Re: General - Auckland (Part 3)

Spotted in Tauranga the other day near Kiwi Bus Builders was 1424. Being driven round the Greerton roundabout by one of KBB staff, she had no doors, all seats stripped out and part of the A/C casing missing. Here for a re-build? Saw another one last night on my way home. I think it was 1407 and pai...

I note the rear door has gone and another locker in it's place. Exhaust shifted to port side from starboard.

Would have driven this once upon a time when it (and me) were at Swanson Depot.

Thanks for posting - always like to see one of my 'old girls'.

Re: Which SL200?

Thank you for that.
One of the early ones which I remember being at Roskill Depot. They rarely went on the Point Chev/Three Kings run (045/274), as the Roskill manager (Ron?) didn't want City Depot Operators driving his nice shiny new MAN's!

Saw this ex YBC SL200 in Paeroa a couple of weeks ago. Anyone know it's old fleet number?
Looks like original registration - KN5547.

Unfortunately no.
My remark was intended as a humorous one, and Mercman will know what I'm implying.
Such a shame that I seem to have got a rather scathing reply......

Purely for interest, here's 3 photos of GoBus 810 taken when brand new - as evidenced by the number of Km's on the Odometer.
810 is the same model as 803 & 804.
