Re: Opal Discussion and Observations

When things return to normal and I go back to the office, I won't be able to travel off peak because commuting at 10am and starting at 11am just isn't feasible. And so, I will probably be catching a train at 8 or 8.30am instead, adding to the congestion since I'll be forced to pay peak fares regard...

Where was this?!?
Taren Point, used by route 478. The old J-pole was damaged during roadworks ages ago, and this popped up sometime recently (only saw it today)

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020

Noticed today that the relatively new hop-branded bus stops in the Dolls Point/Sandringham/Sans Souci area have a route error. It states that route 478 goes to Ramsgate and Miranda, however at all these stops buses have come from Ramsgate on their way to Miranda, and route 478s going to Ramsgate dep...

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020

I wonder why 476-9 were left out of the timetable changes, or if they are to come separately. I can't imagine any actual route changes, unless they are going to drop the 478 loop in Taren Point or carry out the plan to extend the 477 towards the City or Bondi.

Re: Caringbah Turn Up and Go bus trial

I'm not sure I see why this route was chosen. There are busier short corridors to trial a 'high-frequency' service on in the area which I'd argue would be better suited, such as Miranda-Southgate, or Sutherland-Gymea TAFE.

Re: Sydney Bus changes 28th July 2019

Surprised the 476-9 routes didn't get any minor timetable adjustments - these Rockdale routes seem to have been left out and could really use some adjustments. These routes are often running early or late I find.

Re: NSW On Demand Buses

An article in a local paper suggests the Sutherland Shire Transdev Link service is going to be axed, despite being 'one of the successful trials'.

Re: Private Observations 2019

A new bus stop opens Wednesday 6 March for Transdev route 961 and 962 at Kirrawee outside the new-ish South VIllage shopping centre, on the Princes Hwy before Oak Road. A bus zone went in as part of the development on the site. I always thought it was odd there was no stop in Kirrawee between The Ki...

Re: NSW On Demand Buses

Transdev Link is changing from tomorrow: - One big zone instead of the four current zones, also expanded to include Kareela, Oyster Bay and Kirrawee. - Weekday hours extended to 0600-2000 but reduced on weekends to 1000-1600 - Fares still $2.60 but only up to 3km, then $4.30 for longer journeys. An...

Re: Timetable Changes (2 Dec 2018)

I find this notice at bus stops serviced by 477s a little confusing. They advise, apart from minor timetable changes, that there is an extra trip - but from what I can work out between old and new timetable, the "extra trip" already exists. I don't think the number of trips has changed at all (2 per...

Re: Timetable Changes (Dec 2)

I don't see the purpose of truncating 301-3 at Redfern. Especially the 303 from Sans Souci, when it's designed to be a route providing direct service across a long area. I can't imagine too many people will be happy about being forced to change for the 304 to get to Crown Street or Redfern Station f...

Adult boarding a school extension service

Is an adult passenger allowed to board a regular route service which has a school extension on a particular run? I'm not referring to a school special route, but rather when there is a school day deviation to a regular timetabled public route. For example, Transdev route 958 has a weekday morning de...

The X03 doesn't carry many passengers at all, the services are never full especially towards the Southern end between Brighton-Le-Sands and Sans Souci. I've travelled on the afternoon X03 before and it has been standing room only leaving the city, but more than half empty out at Mascot, and much of...

Re: Sydney commuters get chance to trial on-demand buses

Opal would not necessarily be a simple issue as there are no fixed stops so it may not be worth doing for a trial which may not proceed. Once they are permanent I would like to think that the necessary Opal procedures are developed. They're a flat fare, so assuming it was the same under Opal you wo...
