Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
There is ample opportunity for interchange at Chatswood and Barangaroo. Would you remove the crossovers at Barangaroo and install new ones at Central? I am confident there would have been an analysis and reasons behind the placement of the points where they were placed.

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
What’s special about Central? Barangaroo will be a fine site to segregate the line and continue operations either side. Not going to have them everywhere.

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
They are supposed to do it two weeks before, but it is odd that sometimes they don’t do any announcement at all or do it on the day the changes come into effect.

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
There should be some room for rationalisation which would help provide an albeit small reduction in driver requirements in the area.

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
^ Temporary change due to a staff shortage in R14. This route was chosen most likely due to Warringah Mall tern is being close to R8 Keolis-Downer Brookvale Depot. I noticed that some of the route changes mentioned a ‘staff shortage’ as one of the reasons for route changes. I wonder if when there a...

Re: Rail Observations 2024
What is T4NSW and/or Sydney Trains doing wrong that prevents recovery, even partial recovery, after seven hours? Running too many trains. There comes a point when the delays are so high because of crew displacement that the only way to recover is to scrap the timetable and run shuttle services with...

Re: When will Sydney track speeds get back up to 130-160km/h
Also consider timetables for a given line are generally built based on the slowest train on a given line, so benefits may not be seen immediately once commissioned. That would depend on how far away such technology is from full commissioning on that line.

Re: Rail Observations 2024
Some late night services are timetabled to terminate and run empty from Chatswood. In a prior timetable, those trips ended at North Sydney but were extended to improve connections onto the Metro line. There is foreseeably no real demand for such trains to run in revenue through to Hornsby at that ti...

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
I’m sure most of the students can walk for ten minutes each way, not the significant impost some make believe it is and I’ve done the walk many times.
Try walking 30+ mins per way, then maybe we can talk.
