Re: SA lockdown

Do look at the passenger numbers on these buses - virtually nil. Social distancing has nothing to do with this!!!! EMPTY BUSES GOING UP AND DOWN - why increase the cost of operating, by allocating artics. I can assure you that artics cost a lot more to operate than say 12mtr rigids, even without th...

Re: Timetable changes Monday 21st March-O-Bahn Access Projec

I just saw that on the AdMet homepage, if you scroll down to "featured content", the picture used for O-Bahn City Access project is an 0305G, with the rego and fleet numbers photoshopped out. So that means they've used two pictures of buses that no longer run on the O-Bahn, running on the...

Still no Tonsley service. This makes no sense. They built at 900 space carpark for the line and nobody can use it.

Should fit it with guide wheels. That would really boost SAAS's response time in the north east.

Re: Next Stage of Rail Electrification - Adelaide

The trouble is that the system works as it is. The Seaford line now operates exclusively to itself, this means that all the other lines can benefit for capacity increases because the diesel trains have been released from Seaford workings. If you look at it from a non-jealous railfan point of view th...

Incredibly disappointing (bordering on stupid) that Tonsley services were not included in the Footy Express. Has someone forgotten the 600 space carpark they spent several 100s of thousands on?

Why does it even matter? So long as the service is run on time and is clean it doesn't matter what contractor does what and who intrudes on who, they aren't competing for validations.

I don't see why a shuttle would be necessary? The Seaford line operates at 15 minutes frequency during the day on weekdays supplemented by Belair trains. Maybe a shuttle would be necessary on weekends and nights?

Let's hope the 501 gets extended to paradise instead if the stupid place it terminates now. Also I think the 565 should be extended back to Tea Tree Plaza so students living out in that North East part of the city can get to the university easier.

Re: [June 2014] SA transport observations

I don't understand how the planners can judge demand without actually running a service. How do they know that people won't use the bus to get to the city rather than drive (especially with today's petrol price). Running an hourly service is not attractive to anyone, so by running an hourly service ...

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

I can't be bothered adding them up, but when you say 'trains' I assume you mean cars? Anyway, all 3000's and 3100's exist, so that is 3001-3030 and 3101-3140, there are 6 4000 class (with 5 in service) and there are 11 2000 class power cars. No point counting the 2100's as they are trailers and hav...

Re: Adelaide Oval Footy Express 2014

Yes they are being very dumb, but there is a lack of rolling stock. One would hope that once another 2 4000 rock up there should be 4 3000s that become free for Tonsley use.
