Re: Timetable Changes 2024,

But 389 was split to make 379 to address the absolutely, legendarily, beyond woeful on-time running of the 389. The Circular Quay -> Pyrmont change didn't help, but it was in that state before that change.

Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

Hydrogen makes more sense than banks of volatile Lithium batteries that are a ticking time bomb and don't last. Battery buses, like cars are being imposed on us head long by ideologues who are ignoring the problems they will cause and we will pay for their hubris. As we know, hydrogen's not at all ...

Re: Bus Observations 2023

There are a few loop routes in R9. The 399 operates from Little Bay to UNSW and changes destos after leaving Kingsford on the inbound. The next bus display at the interchange already shows the next inbound service operating to Little Bay. The 373 from Coogee to Museum is a loop service. The electro...

I would love to see this in Sydney. Registration/fleet numbers were available in the real-time data trial in 2011. We always assum...

Re: New Sydney and Outer Metro bus contracts (as from 2020)

I also recall there was often middle of the day school charter work which kept drivers occupied (and paid) between brokens; such work often helped keep smaller companies afloat financially. The growth of the charter only operator sector may be eaten into this market? The route operators have priced...

I suggest you come for a shift around Bondi Jn with me in one and you'll see how tyre noise is clearly not enough... Bondi Junction is difficult for all bus drivers because of poor pedestrian behaviour in turn caused by both people factors and environmental factors (people insofar as there's a herd...

Doesn't really matter much past data collection seeing as school cards are free travel. So nobody is losing anything from kids not tapping on What I meant was data collection, because people were discussing the effects of 300 kids per direction per day on the system. If few are tapping there's pote...

Also, are they tapping? It's two stops, and non-existent revenue enforcement, so there's little incentive to do so.

The vehicle in this accident is reported to be fitted with belts. It will be interesting to see if it is determined how many of the deceased were wearing them. Or if the investigation will comment on whether it would have had any effect in this case. Without veering too far into speculation, it has...

Yeah, that's what boronia said, 4 control motor cars and 2 trailers as CTCCTC
