I thought I was a pretty big enthusiast back in the day, but Transport of Perth's videos of the C-series on youtube kinda leave me in the dust! Kids & teens are PT enthusiasts - who knew!
Don't suppose Mr ToP is a member of this forum...?

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024
It's not up on the TransRegional updates page yet, but there is a change for the last afternoon buses from Esperance to the suburbs, effective April 2: All 3 services will be departing 10 mins earlier, so 2.10, 2.18 & 2.20pm - one assumes this is so the 3 buses can get on to their respective sch...

Re: Transperth Bus Fleet by Depot / Region
Yo, can you send more new-old buses down Esperance way?? I'm rather sick of seeing the 1450s around the place (1440 & 2107 are kinda rare sightings for me, so yeah)

Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions
From the Esperance Weekender, Jan 25 (edited by me, with thoughts by me in bold ) Op shop visit a day out Nulsen residents who rely on the local bus service say a trip to the Esperance Care Services thrift shop in Chadwick is an outing of almost 6 hours. According to the TransEsperance timetable, a ...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2023
A little bit after 11 this morning, the 811 to Castletown stopped along The Esplanade, to pick up a person in a wheelchair. The driver lowered the ramp but not the bus & the wheelchair in question wasn't electric, so the poor passenger had to wheel himself UP to get into a low-floor accessible b...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2023
I've been waiting for a very long time to see if anything could outperform the OG high frequency route 950 and ohhhh my goodness, the 907/908 & Perth-Vic Park train schedules leave 'er in the dust!

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2023
Even during the last school holidays & very wet weather, I've seen hardly anyone on those services... except for to/from Nulsen which, as I've stated before, is a lower socio-economic area, but even then it's 3-4 pax max, and generally from the same family; if I was a driver on the West Beach ro...

[quote= BTW does anyone know what the future is for TransEsperance now that the 12 month trial period is nearly up? Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2023
I spent six days in Perth, March 10-16, and observed: A LOT of artics on the 950, especially after 5pm weekdays from the city, as you would expect. I saw the odd artic on the 960 & 980. I saw a very random artic on route 24... or was it 27... after 6pm on Wednesday, ex-city. I saw the occasional...

3 in a row!
1452, 1456 & 2107 Leaving for the suburbs at 2.20, 2.28 & 2.30pm respectively (the last services of the day from town) I don't know how utilised the three services were during the last six weeks, I saw many empty buses during that time (mostly on the 812 West Beach run), but there were a sma...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2023
Anyone here with inside information on services for Australia Day? Earlier in the month the TP site said buses would be running to a weekday timetable, then that info was removed and while https://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/Service-Updates/Bus-Updates/Bus-Update-Details/ArtMID/582/ArticleID/15252/prev...

Re: Esperance "Bus Station" & bus route markers
How would anybody know it's a bus stop? What on earth would the numbers mean to Mrs. Joe Citizen? 617 A comment from someone who doesn't live in WA & has obviously never been to Esperance... that's a BUS STOP at the main BUS STOP in town (ie Transwa coaches to/from Perth & Kalgoorlie

Re: Obscure & forgotten services/other - who remembers?
[/quote] That wouldn't have been the 883, but the 70 in 1997. It ran express between Curtin and the Causeway (with one stop near or on Canning Hwy from memory), then on through the city and on to Cottesloe as the 71, 72 and 73 also did. The 70 only ran towards Curtin in the morning peak and from Cur...

EXTERMINATE route 66 once and for all, it's just totally unnecessary given the mega-frequency of the 950 at peak in both directions...

Re: Obscure & forgotten services/other - who remembers?
I was volunteering at what was known as CTV Perth (later became Channel 31) at Curtin Uni in 1997, and I used to catch the 883, which IIRC was a limited express service at certain hours in the mornings to Curtin, and ditto in the afternoons back to Perth. There was also (in 1997) the 172, a service ...

Re: Esperance public transport consultation

Were any flyers distributed, advertisements in the community newspaper, information distributed to caravan parks/motels/hotels, or posts on social media done t...

Re: Esperance public transport consultation
After a month and a half, early results are in: the PT trial ain't looking too flash for Espy. Many of the buses I've seen, come into town empty & go out empty. During the school holidays there were passengers, of course, but still not that many. Part of the challenges of introducing this trial,...

Esperance "Bus Station" & bus route markers
While I haven't been overly thrilled about Esperance's new public transport offerings, I have to admit to *some* excitement in recent days, as on my walks through and around town, I have seen new town bus stops - as opposed to the school bus stops - appear, plus route 811 to/from Castletown goes rig...

Re: Esperance public transport consultation
The network appears to be designed around the existing school network. The proposed timetable suggests it shouldn't require any extra buses to deliver as the services operate at times when the existing fleet is available (i.e. outside school times). To be reviewed after six months... the talking he...

Esperance public transport consultation
I previously mentioned in a recent thread on another post: Tracy Young, founder of SEED Community Hub in Nulsen & brief nominee for the recent local govt elections, has been looking at establishing a new public bus service for Esperance; there had been a period of public consultation over routes...
