Re: Apple Computer Problems

Mavericks is quite a large download - 5.5GB infact - and if you install it normally, It is required to be downloaded in entirety on each machine that you wish to install it. One option available, if you're good with following instructions or just good with computers in general, is that you can downl...

Re: Wireless internet

It's also worth checking whether your local telephone exchange is close enough to justify ADSL2 (If you're too far, It'll be slow and crap, though where I am, We're like 400m from the exchange and it's slow and crap still) The other thing worth checking is seeing what ISP's have equipment at your ex...

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

My local RMS office recently became a Service NSW centre. Before they changed over, there were massive stacks of all L and P plates that you could help yourself too, but now you have to go the welcome desk and ask for them. They gave me 4 P plates when I last went  When I got my L's in Februa...

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

Nespresso is so much nicer. I used to drink about 10 cups of that a day until I had to leave my machine in Melbourne after I moved to Sydney.

I drink about 5 cups a day on weekends now I've got my machine back with me but I only have one in the morning and maybe one at night.

Re: The Infamous Minto Mall

It opened on Thursday. Coming back along the Hume yesterday afternoon, Between Ingleburn and Casula, There's a sign on the side of the freeway announcing K-Mart being open at Minto Marketplace. They've also got a Woolworthes, Reject Shop and Subway in there from what I can tell. Haven't been in yet.

Re: What makes you happy today?

Dealing with tech support (using that term very loosely) for a client who's document management software wasn't working. Tech support, when presented with the issue, looked and responded with "I don't know, get the user to play around with it and see what happens". Helpful. Issues like th...

Re: The Infamous Minto Mall

Construction seems... well, I see a lot of Tradesmen around there a lot, Many people from many companies (K-Mart, for example) having meetings in the McDonalds. I often see a lot of construction activity but never really notice any progress to the exterior. I heard from one of our delivery guys that...

The issue for me with FSX is using high end payware addon scenery and payware Aircraft. My 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo/4GB RAM/1GB eVGA GTS250, If I loaded London Heathrow up... with I think it was Aerosoft's London Heathrow addon and PMDG MD-11X, The computer would sit there for about 5 minutes trying to lo...

Re: What is your favourite game?

Flight Simulator. It's about the only 'Game' I'm any good at. I miss playing it because my PC is still in Melbourne and I can't justify spending $2,000+ for a new gaming machine when FSX's performance is still quite woeful even on latest machines. I'd love to try Prepar3d (by Lockheed Martin, which ...

I think it only got up to 35ºC in Campbelltown at 10% Humidity. I didn't mind it but I would have preferred more moisture in the air.

I actually quite enjoyed the heat yesterday. Went for a 2k walk at lunch time just to get out in it.

I'm actually glad I wasn't in Melbourne. 15ºC and Raining.

Unless it's Mick Gatto. He's an honest ex-criminal.
Have you never paid any attention to Australian history?

We tend to glorify all major criminals of the past.

All I need to say is Ned Kelly.

It seems they've been busy - Despite half the platform being barricaded off at Minto, There's some large gaps and you can see the platform resurfacing works are almost complete now.

Re: What makes you happy today?

Brendan, I'll just be a nit picker, but 8000m is 26246ft 8 5/8in. Cheers! See, I just don't understand Metric for height. I do recall once I was flying an Airbus and accidentally knocked the Metric/Imperial switch on the MCP and couldn't work out why I was at ~10,000 and the plane refused to...

Re: What makes you happy today?

just to interrupt... but I grew up playing FlightSim and so strangely, despite being brought up in a Metric-standard country, I actually find that in terms of height, I'm very comfortable with feet/inches. Saying 8,000M up to me will result in a blank stare... Saying 16,000ft, I'll at least understa...

For the last week or... well, I can't remember now when they started, but there have been goings-on during the day at Minto on Platform 1. The only thing I've noticed from on the platform is the... scaffolding/wooden barrier things, for which the actual name escapes me, have been moved closer to the...
